I don’t understand why people want dual monitors so much with drag and snap features as well as wide screen monitors.
I personally don't like double monitors for one reason: I like to look straight ahead at the center of a single monitor most of the time. To do that with two monitors centered on the desk means there's a break in the display right in front of my face. Sure I can fix that by centering one and having a monitor off to the side of the first, but to fix the symmetry on my desk I much prefer three monitors :D

Ok, that said, I use an ultrawide monitor instead of two monitors. But if you need 6K performance and larger screens, there isn't an Apple ultrawide that meets those needs, and three Apple monitors plus stands is going to set you back $20K (gulp).

I came on here to say basically what everyone else is saying. Can't wait to see the price for this.

I've been holding off buying an XDR for something like this and now I need 2 XDR's. ;-) Looks like I can also use it as a chin-up bar. One more thing - Are wheels an added-cost option?

this is something Apple at the 80's would have release right after the XDR release (when they just were losing money in a daily basis)

I mean, another Apple patent (quite ugly and useless) in an ocean of yearly patents

Everyone thinking $3000 but that’s when they hit ya with the $4000! Because I’d you can already afford two XDRs then clearly money is no barrier in your life.

Two monitors for $10 000 you need a stand for at least the same price as one monitor. But it is tax redoubtable!

It'd be cool if they did something like this for a single foldable display. Turns into a "dual display" as soon as you activate the fold.

My home setup is a 13" MBP and a 27" monitor. I'm on a lot of video calls for work (even before COVID) so I like to have one screen for whichever video call app I'm using, and another screen for email, doc, spreadsheets, notes, etc.

When I'm doing video editing, I have Final Cut or iMovie open on my large screen, then move my email or web browser to the MBP screen. It's easier for me to look over to a different monitor and do something else, then use shortcuts to bring the screen I need to the front of a particular screen.

I really hope this patent will become a real product, so that we get to know how shamelessly high apple prices it. I’m sure they won’t disappoint!!
