Obviously nothing new. No concrete information. But it’s an article in one of Germany’s largest magazines, so I regarded it as worth sharing a link to.

EDIT: By the way a respected bank journalist (Mr Leichsenring) had an article back in October with the prospect of Apple Pay coming in Q1/Q2 of 2018... Also another Sunday read for anyone who hasn't read it yet: https://www.der-bank-blog.de/apple-pay-deutschland/mobile-payment/29774/

I think, this article was mentioned once or twice in this thread. Read it with interest back in Oct/Nov.
[doublepost=1518351460][/doublepost]PS: in the article is another hint for some sort of "nationale Insellösung", that is supported by Apple Pay. Canadian Interac.
As I said before: GiroCard would be no problem, if Apple and the banks find a sustainable compromise for the costs and profits.

If you check the new thread I have attached some T&Cs I found on the site of my local Sparkasse. Yet, it was discussed at some point in this thread but thought it was interesting to find several documents now pointing to a "digitale Sparkassen-Card" (a new document summarising the most important points of the new terms is online).

I just set up my Apple Watch and was prompted with this image on my iPhone.
I couldn’t add any German cards (obviously) but my U.S. MasterCard was accepted.
My region is set to Germany, even though I changed it to United States for an hour, about two weeks ago.
It probably doesn’t mean anything but who knows.

On the Apple Watch I have such a function always appears for a few hours after setting up the watch. I think it's a glitch not worth fixing in the eyes of Apple.
