We have thread after thread of people crapping all over Apple for every reason under the Sun. Is it okay if we have one thread on this site where it's acceptable for people to enjoy something that Apple has done?

Professor is the first one to crap in each and every thread.. Just check his posting history.... I suspect he likes to inflame things a tad bit....

He is too emotional about Apple fans enjoying anything.

Yeah the "technology that helps you not to take out your wallet to buy things." I went to walgreen but i still had to bring out wallet to take out ID card. (Buying cigarettes). Shame liar!!

You are buying the wrong product;)

Tokenization is a big one.

We have Chip debit and credit cards too, you guys just finished your transition completely, now it's our turn to get started, that's all.

I also don't know what you mean by pay as you go, but if you're talking about the handheld scanners, we have had that too, since 2001, and I still use it every day at Costco. Stop & Shop has it too on the east coast.
Do you have a "micro chip" on your card?
All Aus cards have one.

All Aus cards have one.

Two of my cards have a chip, one is Chip & PIN, other is Chip & Sig. All of my cards have PayPass or payWave. The US isn't too far behind.

Surely not all US cards have one but most new credit cards issued or if you get a replacement card has one now. My USAA credit is Chip and PIN, and I got my Bank of America debit replaced and the new card has a Chip.

To be fair, at least he participates in various kinds of discussions. Some people comment exclusively to complain about Apple or Apple fans- they never take a positive or neutral stance on anything.

I'm assuming the other 50% of mobile payments at Mcdonalds is Google Wallet. Congratz to both Apple and Google.

I don't have (nor want) an iPhone, but am happy to see Apple Pay doing so well since it will only help out NFC adoption at retailers. I use Google Wallet and so far, so good.

Death to MCX!

Users in these stats have the newest iPhone 6, a highly sought after premium device. Its users demand the best.

Not willing to get better food than McDonalds.

Oye....

Hey man, it's hard to beat a sausage egg mcmuffin.

Apple Pay - really

its a get marketing feature but that is about it work no where shop and yes i have 6 plus and going tone returning it .

Finally got a chance to try this at Toys R Us tonight. I was underwhelmed. It asked for me to confirm the amount on the terminal, asked to confirm credit or debit, and made me sign. Not that much faster.

Problem I see is that the smaller mom and pop stores would take forever to incorporate this. Even El Famous burrito won't take debit/credit cards and they have some decent Mexican food.
You can only eat McDonald's, taco bell and other large food chains for so long. I got so tired of eating Woopers I don't even go to burger King.

It will take longer, but at some point these places went from not taking credit cards to accepting them. Now a place that doesn't take credit cards either is a little niche place or a place that won't succeed.

I would love to see Apple develop some tech to make it easier for tiny merchants, maybe like people with booths at a farmers market, to accept NFC payments. Square and others allow you to make swipe payments anywhere you can take an iPad or iPhone. But yet there are some places you would expect this to be implemented that it's not. I was at a high school basketball game about three years ago and out of cash. The concession stand didn't take any credit cards. I didn't understand why knowing how easy Square is. I would've gladly paid the 3 percent surcharge. I'm guessing none of the parents running the thing knew about this, which seemed crazy at such a big school. That's theowing money away.

Its funny, I never thought I'd care much for apple pay but now I purposely only look for Chevron gas stations to get gas and a snack/drink. I only go to Walgreens now instead of the Rite Aid which is closer to me. I know its dumb, but paying with my phone gives me a nerdy satisfaction.

Eh... What?

No shame, no shame at all.

I never use apple pay. I want less dependence on my phone, not more. Apple phones are now tapped into users health with HealthKit, homes with home integration, and now credit spending.

Hey MR..

Isn't 50% and doubled the same thing?

You need to go back to school pal! lol!

Try 100 x 0.5 (50%)
Now try 100 x 2 (doubling..)

If you're getting the same number can I borrow $1000 and I'll pay you back double!

I'll admit it, I took the kids to McDonald's when I first got my iPhone 6 Plus just so I could test out the Apple Pay. I also switched to using Walgreens which is across from the CVS that I used to use just because of Apple Pay. It was partly the novelty of it.

Especially when you can use Apple Pay to get that Egg McMuffin. And afterward, you can head to Walgreens and use Apple Pay for your high-cholesterol meds. ;)
