Their app is still a mess. After several redesigns there is still the same annoying bugs and crashes, issues with payment, and random cancellations. You’d think for a chain as large as this they would at least put in the minimum effort.

Yeah. I thought the big selling point of using ApplePay was that it was a (contactless) digital wallet that PAID for your purchases and meals directly.... without having to use another 3rd-party app.

I’d rather have Chick-fil-A over anything nowadays. It’d be interesting if Apple promote Chick-fil-A.

The difference being, Burger King is far larger of an entity then Chick-fil-A is. Chick-fil-A is primarily a ‘southern fast-food restaurant’, but has ventured its way further north in the last five years. Burger King just dominates in a much larger sector than Chick-fil-A does.

no, I personally don’t eat at either one of those restaurants, (as I don’t care for drive-thru food), but I do think Chick-fil-A would be the better option as you mentioned.

I am not sure why the hate for BK, perhaps it is different there but here in the U.K. I'd rate them way way ahead of McDonalds or KFC and the other fast food places. As long as you don't eat fast food every week I also dno't see the problem with it, it is a treat for when you are busy or out and about with little time, if I finish work at 11pm there are very few options and I certainly don't want to cook!

nope sadly all burger kings in my area are owned and managed by unsanitary people, seriously you can check yelp and they all have the worst. I once wanted to try 2x 10 piece nuggets they had was a 30 minute wait. only reason I stayed was one I paid for it and 2 my wife was also hungry too

I'm simply stunned a company like Apple would even suggest this garbage. WWSD (What would Steve do?)?

Wish BK would have better quality control at all locations
I've had a few really well made burgers and chick sands but mostly poorly trained workers making bad not crispy poorly put together sandwiches.
if i were going to clog my arteries it better be worth it

How nice.

Now if only the Burger King app would actually let my order go through, then we'd be good.

Used to work.

Last couple times I tried to do an order it failed after payment and didn't send the order to the store, with a super-helpful "something went wrong" error popup.

Too bad they are all closed for the most part, especially around here in NJ
[automerge]1591315916[/automerge]

They are practically out of business

Here in GA they're all open and business is thriving based on the cars lined up anytime I drive by one.

... but we never closed down restaurant pickup/drive-thru service.

Actually even expanded in the sense that restaurants could sell beer/wine/liquor to go (sealed package).

Had so much trouble just signing in before or creating a new account that I just deleted it. Didn't seem to like my phone number even though I was signed up previously after an update it said it didn't recognize my email address.
I'll try again but usually the paper coupons load and work most of the time. ;) someone needs to future out a way to use Apple Pay on paper coupons.

Nope. App still doesn't work. Can't sign in with email address. Says something went wrong. Fail.

Thanks for the upscale deals, Apple.

Gross.
lol They will stamp the Apple logo on the bun for you to make it upscale.

Kind of ashamed to see a healthy living advocate like Apple promoting a clogged artery like BK.
[automerge]1591321265[/automerge]

I think of BK as the K-Mart of the fast food industry. Walking into one is like taking a trip back in time.
lol who cares. If people want to clog their arteries, let them do it. Its not that bad and its not meant to be eaten every day anyway. 😆

Burger King's going to be shocked when they learn of this.

I think it's dumb that they didn't keep any of my previously stored info when they changed the app.

And that's the point. Not every one is bad. With any business with multiple locations around me, there's some I will go to much more, and others I will avoid because they have rude idiots.

Little Caesars pulls that crap too. Even worse was the last time I had the whole order in and clicked submit and it said they weren't doing delivery. Why didn't you say that WHEN I FIRST CHOSE DELIVERY?!?!?!

Agreed, people must be tired of hearing all tech jargon, an easy subject to post a reply.
I don't understand what is so hard about SKIPPING the thread is it doesn't appeal to you?! Or even better, open it, Click Ignore, and move on so you never see it again.

Ouch.

Recently tried to do an in-app order for Sonic drive-thru pickup after pumping gas on a road trip. Spent a bunch of time looking at the menu, building an order, went to checkout and they only take Sonic gift cards. Sure I can buy gift cards in the app, for $10 or $20 or whatever. No apparent way to use my credit card or Apple Pay.

We go to Sonic maybe twice a year. I'm not gonna leave money sitting with them when I rarely visit.

*shrug* Switched to Chick-fil-A app and did our order quick and easy.

Some folks just can't miss an opportunity for some self-righteous virtue-signalling.

Burger King in Canada is quite a bit better than in the US, but it's still a few steps below "decent".

I don't know why so many people install fast food apps to let themselves be tracked in exchange for a few coupons that aren't as good as what they used to get in mailers. This doesn't even cost the company to send out the coupons.
I wonder why all the promos apple has ever had only apply to using apple pay online. Applying the promos to purchases made using apple pay in-store would greatly increase the number of people who could get the benefit. Not to mention that it would make it possible for the promo to also apply for purchases made at locations of the same business in otherwise unsupported countries, such as BK locations in Mexico.

People love being angry, don't they. MacRumors isn't forcing you to eat.
Anger? No. Level-headed incredulity that we've reached this level of product placement on a site (and from a company) that 17 years ago were in the vanguard of the tech world? Yes.

Straw man cheap shots might make you feel good, but they certainly aren't fooling anyone. ;)

At least with the recent ones, it's probably to encourage social distancing and staying at home.
