I can't stand Wegmans!

I know. What's to like? A wide selection of food from inexpensive to foreign to gourmet. Prices competitive with the regular grocery stores. Fish, meat, cheese, produce and bakery sections that put other grocery stores to shame. Rarely a line to wait in. And the employees are always courteous and knowledgeable. What a crock!

Ive had it set up for two months on my iPhone but still haven't shopped at a single place where it was accepted. They need a lot more merchants to accept this... Namely the following:
- Market Basket (and other grocery chains)
- Exxon (and other gas chains)
- Walmart
- They need a way for local merchants / non-chains to be able to take Apple Pay...

I wish Safeway would get it going! I can see there would be issues with having to pull out the Safeway card then use apple pay. Kinda defeats the purpose. Need an all-in-one system.

Wow. Offended much? Are you Danny?

Here's my issue to name a few about Wegmans. Continual products being moved around, the lines, the traffic, the astronomical prices (!), the huge factor, grumpy employees, etc. That's been my experience.

So, perhaps before you call someone's experience and opinion a crock, you should get to know their experience with said grocery store.

Apple Pay? Back on topic... My fault... I love seeing its potential. I like where it can go. Looking forward to the electronic wallet concept coming to life more.

Apple could be starting a whole new trend in mobile payments here, potentially sitting in a gold mine!

Tried to use it earlier this week at a Best Buy--didn't know they were part of the CurrentC consortium--and then right after that had to pick up a prescription at CVS and of course I already knew it wasn't accepted there on their NFC terminals. I'm excited for it to gain more wide availability cause it really does work well. I'm frustrated that merchants are going out of their way to block it.

I've used it probably 10 times at Panera since my Barclay card gained compatibility. Numerous times at Petco too. It makes buying the more expensive dog food slightly more bearable.

Wow, a whopping 1% of a minuscule market. A better comparison would be to overall transactions. I honestly do not know a single person who has used Apple pay.

lol...whole foods...can't say i'm too surprised there :D

I think once people learn how easy it is to use it will pick up steam. I had my reservations at first. Unfortunately the roadblock may be the merchants going out of their way to stop it.

Trader Joe's is so much better than Whole Foods in so many ways. TJ should go Apple Pay soon, I hope.

Sprouts is similar to Whole Foods, but actually more affordable. Sprouts vibe is more "casual" compared to Whole Foods "hipster" vibe.

Whole Foods actually reminded me to use it at checkout unlike most other retailers, have used it there twice vs maybe once at some random little supermarket. I also keep trying at CVS and forgetting that it doesn't and won't work there.

I didn't think I would ever use Apple Pay, but now I use it whenever I can. It feels like the future. I used to get annoyed when people in line ahead of me would fumble for cash, or worse coins, (or god forbid WRITE A CHECK) and hold up the line. Now I get annoyed at the 10 extra seconds it takes to use a credit card. It really is fantastically convenient. I wish I could store my Target card info and other stuff like that on the phone too.

I'm your worst nightmare... I always check to see if I have the right change (or even change that will "help"), before handing over cash. You can cool your heels behind me in line, fiddling with your phone, while I pick out those pennies!

Don't forget to add liquor stores.

Then you may go crazy here in Japan. People like to pay exact change to the yen. If that's not possible you want to change up your coins so you count out to the yen to get a 10 yen or 50 yen back in your change. Combine that with the overly long detailed and interactive process that a transaction is here and you end up waiting huge times in lines.

There have to be more places out there in the big cities to use Apple Pay. I live in a town of 22,000 in Arkansas of all places and I've used ApplePay many, many times.

Walgreens
Firehouse Subs
Harps Grocery
Subway

Just to name a few. People still think it's some sort of black magic but they say they've seen the commercials now.

Apple pay works pretty much anywhere that has NFC terminals. My local grocery store doesn't advertise Apple Pay but I could see that their terminals accepted contactless/NFC payments. So I tried it and sure enough it worked.

I was also able to use it for a cab ride too. Just try Apple Pay anywhere you can.
