I work at Target, I know these things... Technically they could have turned chip on while I've been off for 5 days though :p

They are actively testing CurrenC, I don't expect NFC to get turned on. It would be great if they would and I could use my RC with it. Although CurrenC wraps RC, cartwheel and emp discount in one QR code. That is kind of nifty.

RC's can't be added to Apple Pay yet as in store cards are not yet supported. I bet this changes. As an employee, you know Target has more important things going on now to worry about Apple Pay in store. But being a launch partner for the app version and being called out at the iPhone launch, would I bet lead to it coming in the future say after the holidays.

I can not see CurentC or MCX surviving. It's awesome for merchants from their prospective, but banks and consumers may not see the situation the same way. I for one do NOT want my payment data stored in ANYONES cloud. Having it at my bank (Chase) makes me nervous given the past few weeks news.

It's also the cheapest, bar none.

The clientele in the store is atrocious, at least in my local Walmart. Every line has someone on WIC holding the line up. People arguing with cashiers over 10 cents. I went 2 or 3 times years ago and decided never again.

Shopping at Stop and shop or big y is minimally more $ but such a better experience. Not to mention the store is clean

I am not disputing this lol. But keep in mind, there are certain areas in the country where Walmart does not function as a grocery store.

Minding your own business. Learn it. Remember it. ;)

I think you should follow your own advice.

You saw a member who had contradictory posts so you called him out. Which, in your terms, is none of your business. I was agreeing that he is an instigator ...but

And this. I was going to post this but I didn't want to get involved as then I, like you, would not be "minding our own business."

Everyone settle down. I figured the ;) would convey the joking nature of my post.

Why is it so damn hard to understand that APPLE PAY WILL WORK AT ANY PLACE WITH WORKING NFC PAYMENT SYSTEMS... Seriously... Come on people.. If the store you go to (even if it's Walmart or Best Buy, who have came out and said they WON'T SUPPORT IT) has working/active NFC payement systems... IT. WILL. WORK.

Apple doesn't have some sort of special NFC they use and ONLY the places they list use it.. Have some common sense and look outside the damn gardened walls for once..

Now that you eloquently laid that out for me I understand without any confusion. Thank you for your patience;)

Did I do that right?

Bahaha.. Yes, you did. I am just sick of seeing the same posts over and over again about "HEY! IT WORKS HERE! LOOK!" type posts..

People if you paid attention to the keynote they clearly stated this would work where current NFC is accepted. The partners are to guarantee that all their stores will have NFC. Apple clearly explained both instances.

Why does this scare me. Walmart the crappiest store bar none

Well do not know why you are scared as my past about going to Walmart was SARCASM!

I seldom ever shop there, maybe once a year.

I have nothing against Walmart. They save people lots of money.

Please don't give me the "they treat their employees badly" as Apple does not have a good record for their employees who assemble their products.

Because during the keynote I was focusing on new iPhones and the Apple Watch I guess. Thought Apple Pay was proprietary and only worked at the locations Apple has announced. Why make a big deal out of their "partners" when it works anywhere that accepts NFC? Mixed messages coming out Cupertino.

Marketing. Apple wanted to get a few big merchants to join in their announcement to make it appear it would be widely supported.

But, yes -- it was a mixed message. It just confused a lot of people. However, it didn't confuse people that understood how the EMV standard (used by :apple: Pay) actually works.

What amazed me was how many people refused to accept it, even when it was explained to them.

Sorry I need to spell stuff out so clearly for you but:

Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt." Sarcasm may employ ambivalence, although sarcasm is not necessarily ironic. "The distinctive quality of sarcasm is present in the spoken word and manifested chiefly by vocal inflections". The sarcastic content of a statement will be dependent upon the context in which it appears.

That's the bad part about forums. repetitive and misinformative. There will always be the doubters, the haters, the know it alls, the lets be friends guys, the fanboys. It's about sifting through the BS to find useful info haha

That mad me laugh but what you said is so true!:)

True. My local Walmart is a "full service" store. Food and general merchandise.
I prefer to shop for food at a supermarket. The quality at walmart is crap. Meats are strange colored. Not impressed at all. Wont shop there to save less than $10

Not to worry, I am having a great time!

What a terrible comparison.

I can't complain about something because of a completely unrelated thing?

That's not how arguments work.

Being from DC, I understand your confusion. ;)

Sorry, I missed the sarcasm. :) No arguments about the employees, hey if you work there and dont like it quit. Im talking about the "people" that shop there. Creepy and ghetto::D
