So I used Apple Pay for the first time today at Walgreens and McDonalds. Both transactions went through, although at Walgreens it still asked me for my debit card pin on the pad. I have Wells btw.

However, for both transactions, there are no details as to the amount etc. It just says like a general location where I paid and two "--" in the right column where I imagine the transaction details would be (price...).

Anyone else experience this??

BTW, I actually used Apple Pay on Monday night in the Target app and ordered something for store pickup. That transaction showed up in the details, meaning the price.

Also, Passbook is only showing my last transaction. I thought it was supposed to show like 10??

The same is happening to me. I have a Chase Debit Card. Is it because it's Debit?

I also used my WF debit at Walgreens. When it asked for my pin I just pushed "Credit" on the POS screen. I did, however, have to confirm the total but that was the only extra step.

My Passbook app also only shows the time of my last transaction but not the $.

I tried it out today at the Shell Gas Station down the street from my apartment when I noticed they had the NFC symbol on their payment terminal. Worked quickly and without any issues.

Saw on the news this morning that CVS, Best Buy and Walmart says NO to Apple Pay.

Tried it today at Walgreens & it's pretty impressive. Very easy, fast, & responsive. 2 things: 1- I could've swore I saw during the keynote that you get receipts via push notification either by email or text. Using my Wells Fargo debit, I got nothing. If it works for credit cards, it should work for both. Same goes for the Last Transaction list in Passbook. It doesn't list anything with debit. 2- I thought this way of paying would eliminate using a PIN when using debit. Again, not the case. So what it all comes down to is A: taking out my wallet & swiping my card, or B: taking out my phone & hover over the terminal and authenticate with finger. It doesn't seem Apple Pay is much faster to me. Either one has to come out of my pocket & enter the PIN. Sure, you get to embrace this cool as ***** technology but I'm hoping they'll add more features to eliminate more steps to make this payment system faster & even more convenient.

I'm a BOA customer with all credit/debit cards so got lucky. Just used AP at Walgreens and it worked perfectly. Just held it up to the scanner, used the fingerprint, and it beeped to close sale. Fast and easy!

Can't wait until more stores come on board.

I am a BOA customer as well and have an iPhone 6. Not to piss on everyone's parade , but pulling my card out and swiping my card at the terminal is just as fast as pulling out my phone. Ok maybe it saves a couple seconds, and maybe it is more secure but does that even matter , really dont see the appeal here with the apple pay unless I am one of those with the phone in my hand all the time. None of my local grocers or walmart accept apple pay yet, and walmart says they wont.

Swiping my card is fast and easy as well is what I am trying to say

Not sure this belongs nere but wouldn't the phone unlock when you press the home button and use your fingerprint to pay

No only because your phone handles one task at a time according to the prompts (unlock or pay). When near NFC terminal, your phone wakes up still locked and asks for TouchID to confirm payment, not to unlock.

ISwiping my card is fast and easy as well is what I am trying to say

Yep. It's also going away, though, since as of October 2015, merchants who swipe cards instead of using chip and sign will assume all liability for fraud.

NFC is not as fast as swipe without sign, a bit faster than swipe and sign or swipe and zip, and faster than chip and sign or chip and pin.

why doesn't security matter?

No. You don't press the home button for TouchID. Just rest your finger on top.

Looks like it might be a debit card thing cause it seems everyone not getting a total price or transaction details through Passbook all used a debit card. Same thing with me and I've used it at both McDonalds and Walgreens.

It's still very early on, so in many cases it may actually be more work to use Apple Pay, as employees won't know what to do, you won't know where it's accepted, etc. But the idea is that it will be eventually be available most places you shop, and once that happens (if it happens) I think the checkout process will get more streamlined, giving you even more of a time savings. But the real advantage is the security benefits. Before the breaches at Target and Home Depot (and others), I wasn't overly concerned with credit card security, since I had never even had to get a card replaced, even though I shopped online a lot. But that has changed recently -- it really does seem like things are getting progressively worse.

When a retailer "shuts off" NFC payments does anything happen when you hold your phone to it? For example, does it still allow you to try the payment but decline the transaction? Or does it not wake your phone at all?

Apple can play this game to by not putting the CurrentC app that Walmart and the other stores want to use in the App Store.

I think barclaycard visa is going hot. I got the terms and conditions page and after agreeing I got card not added. Barclaycard website is not working for me either.

haven't used :apple: pay yet. no card that works :(

apple pay with BOA

I've used apple pay a few times with my BOA card but when i use it nothing shows up under transaction except the city and time no amount or store name. anyone have this issue and if so how do i fix it ??? thanks

I have used it twice so far, both times with clerks who hadn't seen it before either. For me it is much easier than my card. My phone is 1 item. Pull it out, hold it to the terminal, touch the touch ID, done (Petco made me sign still.) To get my credit card, I need to pull out my wallet, pull out the card, swipe, put the card back in my wallet. This is typically a 2 handed operation. Not that it's hard, but Apple Pay is really nice.

Did you do it as debit or credit? It seems when does as debit, it does not show the total. I'm not sure if this is an iOS bug or just a technical limitation but it is quite annoying.

does apple pay store receipts at all? or, is it purely used to pay for things and retains no data? it'd be cool if you could get digital receipts for everything and keep them organized right there. some stores can email them, but it's sort of a hassle that way.

Apple pay does not store any receipts, think of it as just swiping your card in a card reader except its holding your phone by the terminal. You still get a paper based receipt like a normal CC/cash transaction.

At the Apple Store they give you the choice to have it emailed to you.
