Used Apple Pay at three different locations today. Each terminal was a little different and each required different steps on the keypad. Walgreens wants too much information and McDonalds being the easiest.

Is anyone receiving notifications about their purchases? I thought that was what was shown on the demos but I never received any. Also is there a way to see a list of transactions? It only shows the last one in Passbook but it doesnt include the price.
Thanks

This issue of only one billing address for all your cards concerns me, it only allowed me to add one card, can anyone confirm that you can use multiple billing addresses for multiple cards? Thanks

Try adding the other address in your contacts.

When I set up it asked me to choose between the two.

At this time, I wouldn't choose my credit cards solely based on whether or not they support Apple Pay. Nor would I cancel any cards that don't, unless you don't mind a hit on your FICO score.

Apple Pay has a long way to go. Getting an Apple Pay-supported card today so that you can use it at Panera Bread is a little silly. That's not to say that Apple Pay isn't the wave of the future.

This exactly. It blows my mind to read people here opening new lines of credit and closing long standing credit lines just because they do not currently support Apple Pay. I guess their credit score and history are of little concern to them.

Closing open trade lines (credit cards) do not hurt your Fico score or history. These accounts report as "in good standing" for 10 years after they are closed. Its opening new cards that generally hurt due to an added hard pull and it being a new line of credit which brings your average history down.

However, I believe doing either of the above is a waste just for Apple Pay.

I believe closing open trade lines will lower the average age of your existing trade lines which does hurt your Fico score. Am I wrong on that? (Hope I am since I closed my Barclay's Apple card the other day to raise the credit line on my Arrival+ card).

Yes, you are correct, it will lower your average age if it was, lets say, your oldest open card. However it should not hurt you too much because it stays on the account for 10 years after closing, so it will still show up on your reports, you should be fine. Although not sure why you would close a card to raise the credit line on another card??

Like I said, my FICO score according to my last Discover bill is 800+, as is my wife's, I think we can probably deal with a small hit for closing my Chase Amazon Visa that I've only had for a couple years, and getting a new Chase Freedom Visa. Funny thing is I had a Chase Freedom Visa up until a few months ago when I got rid of it since I thought it was silly to have two Chase Visa cards.

I am reconsidering closing my AT&T Universal card though since I have had it since 2000, and I was always planning on keeping my Discover card that I've had since 1999.

I may still pick up the American Express card that was mentioned, since I don't currently have one at all.

I think it's a little premature to be closing the Amazon Visa considering that they're supposedly going to be adding support in a matter of weeks.

I had not heard that until I saw your post and then searched for news on it. Initially both Chase and Amazon said that they had no plans to support it (I contacted them both personally), looks like they have reconsidered (or the CSRs I spoke to had no idea what they were talking about/or weren't allowed to comment).

I'm a BOA customer with all credit/debit cards so got lucky. Just used AP at Walgreens and it worked perfectly. Just held it up to the scanner, used the fingerprint, and it beeped to close sale. Fast and easy!

Can't wait until more stores come on board.

Well I'm just going by what I've read here (perhaps it was the thread in the iPhone forum). Someone said that they talked to Chase and said it would be supported, but of course customer service reps often seem to have no idea what they're talking about.

My purchase at Walgreens yesterday shows the price in Passbook.

And I didn't have to do anything at Walgreens other than hold the phone to the NFC. My card is a credit card, so it may be that when it is a debit card it needs to know how you want to use it, but when it is a credit card there's only one option, so it doesn't ask. Not sure.

^^Yes, I had same experience at Walgreens. Just held the phone up to the scanner, used fingerprint when it asked for it, and that was it. Scanner beeped and closed sale. Mine is credit card too!

Is Apple Pay supposed to work only at "partner" stores or I can just tap any NFC terminal? I've read reports that it works on NYC Taxi cabs and those were never announced as "launch partners". I'm confused about that...

It should work at any NFC terminal.

The partners are just companies who already have NFC in all their locations, or have committed to add it at all their locations now that Apple has come out with Apple Pay.

You might want to call Chase - they might be able to convert your Amazon card to a Freedom card - I know Citi will let you do this, and Chase has swapped co-branding and even card types before with the same account, so it wouldn't hurt to ask and might be less disruptive.

It should work at MOST NFC terminals though there seems to be some out there with a different kind of chip reader like the ones at Target. But you can use it in a cab. I did! It was great. I still had to do all the stuff on the taxi screen though.

Because having the higher limit on the other card would provide more buying power for a large purchase in case I need it....instead of breaking up purchases across cards. Also, the card I moved the credit line to is a rewards card, the Apple card is not.

I already applied and was approved for the Freedom card (with a credit limit way higher than I want, so I need to call in and lower it). The annoying thing is they didn't give me the full account number when I was approved, so I can't add it to Apple Pay until I get the card in the mail. The Chase CSR I talked to on the phone acted like it would give me the full card number as soon as the approval went through and I could start using it right away.

Mine is a Chase debit card. The first time after I put the phone next to the POS I had to select credit or debit. I hit debit and had to put in my pin. This morning at a different Walgreens I select credit but still had to confirm the amount of the purchase on the POS but didn't need to use a pin. It still doesn't show the price in passbook and I've never received any notifications.

So I used Apple Pay for the first time today at Walgreens and McDonalds. Both transactions went through, although at Walgreens it still asked me for my debit card pin on the pad. I have Wells btw.

However, for both transactions, there are no details as to the amount etc. It just says like a general location where I paid and two "--" in the right column where I imagine the transaction details would be (price...).

Anyone else experience this??

BTW, I actually used Apple Pay on Monday night in the Target app and ordered something for store pickup. That transaction showed up in the details, meaning the price.

Also, Passbook is only showing my last transaction. I thought it was supposed to show like 10??
