Thank god! It's difficult to look at the current Apple Pencil without getting lost in its overcomplicated design!

Do you have small children?Nope. Air 2 from day one. Never used a case or any sort of protection. Neither on my iPhone.
I suppose casemakers will leave some space open then.Magnetically attaches itself-cool. Then I remember that I use a case. So, uh, there that goes I guess?
You do have a choice. Microsoft allows a stylus flip for an eraser. But Microsoft doesn't allow you to tap to turn your tip into an eraser which is what I prefer. So we both have a choice.Or just let people choose how they prefer to do it? I know I would want to flip the pen.

Sorry, not trying to be snarky but as a designer myself I understand Apple's position. Choices appear to be a good thing but they create confusion and always add costs and compromises. Choices also reveal a lack of focus. It means that the designer doesn't know exactly what they expect from a product and its user which usually leads to unhappy users.
Nah. Limiting compatibility like that would mean a radical redesign of the technology, and I'm not sure why they'd need to do that.
"Back in the day" Apple broke backward compatibility all the time. You were saying?
It’s classic Apple. Maybe not back in the day, but certainly in the Tim Cook era.

Customers want choices so they feel like they got their money's worth. Actually using those choices and features has nothing to do with that desire. You are being snarky if you suggest a Surface as the alternative for "choice, completely missing the mark. So, choices reveal a lack of focus? How many people wanted a dark mode for Mac? What about all those other things you can customize on your Mac? Seriously...![]()
Oops. My apologies back for pointing out something that was just fine. Thanks for your work. It's actually long to wait, no typo there. Apologies again for the error with the time. I'm west coast and accidentally wrote Eastern instead of Pacific.
