I'm now in the position of wait to order if "in-store pick-up" becomes available, or order and wait for 4-5 weeks... I don't know what to do! Ahhhhh! Lol

You should always order online no matter what. You can always cancel the order if you get lucky with a store.

Did your order say it would arrive today when you placed the order? Mine is due 19–26Nov, but hoping it may come early...
Ordered mine through staples. The confirmation email says expected delivery is November 20.

That's probably a better question for them..why didn't you ask them..no one on this forum will know what they meant.
I finally got around to ordering mine on Friday (11/13) in the afternoon. Says the iPP is supposed to deliver 11/25-11/30.
Says the pencil is supposed to deliver 12/17-12/23.

You're right. Just called them again and the staff said she could only tell me that the record said out of stock, but couldn't confirm if there was stock earlier or would there be stock tomorrow.
A staff of the other store said that he hadn't seen any stock since he started work today.

Mine arrived today! Was quoted 5-7 days so well ahead of schedule.
order placed 00:30 PST on the 11th. 19th to 27th with next day ship. Still in processing status as of now.
Thanks for the input, but if I use an Apple Gift Card and cancel will it be more complicated by doing so?
You could always purchase it with cash/credit, and once the gift card gets re-issued go to the apple store and have them re-ring the purchase, using the gift card. You are within the holiday policy so you have til after Christmas!
Do you have any info about when your credit card was charged (perhaps the morning before you received the Pencil). And when your status changed on your order from processing to preparing for shipment?
*sigh* my pencil (ordered at 8am NYC time on Nov 11th) still reads:
