When the status goes from "Processing Item's to "Shipping", does Apple send an email with update? Just curious because I'm getting tired of checking my order every 30 minutes.

apple usually goes from 'processing' to 'preparing for shipping', to 'shipped'. usually you do get an email saying it's been shipped, but not the first switch in status.

My card was just charged for the cost of the Pencil, though I purchased the Pencil, Keyboard, and iPad all at the same time.
Still processing. Paid for upgraded shipping.
"Delivers: 19 Nov, 2015 - 23 Nov, 2015 by Next Day Shipping, before noon"
EDIT: While typing this, the Pencil changed to Preparing for Shipment. Keyboard still Processing.

Confirmation email was received at 00:11AM PST. My delivery date range is Nov 23 - 25, but Apple has consistently overshot my delivery predictions by about 3 days.
Just changed to Preparing for Shipment...ordered 12:11a Pacific on 11/11, delivery window 11/20-11/24 to Rochester, NY.
Ditto - I just checked 30 minutes ago. Now Pencil is preparing and Keyboard is still processing...wonderful!

Same here. Pencil preparing, keyboard processing. Confirmation email 3:16 est 11/11.
So sounds like the first wave pencils are all going out now. I believe I was second wave (0:30 PST) with estimated ship 19th to 27th (next day air) and mine is still "preparing". Hoping that changes tomorrow.
Me too I wish mr cook will do something about it instead of dealing with not important subjects such as if Apple will make a hybrid macbook or not
I completely forgot that i ordered the pencil on 11th that's why i placed another order of pencil on 13th which i thought was my first order of pencil with 4-5 week delivery window. I was casually browsing apple website and went to my orders and saw PFS on first pencil order which I didn't knew i made it. So wow that's a real nice news for me and members here that apple is shipping out the pencil order soon. I think store availability will also start from 20th so guys who did not ordered on 11th there's a good chance that there will a big stock on 20th in stores. 11/11 3:10AM EST

You want him on that assembly line cranking out product like a good CEO, eh?
It is lame having to wait for these fairly essential peripherals; I've got until mid-to-late December before I'm going to see mine delivered. I actually assume I'll get them in a store before they actually ship.
