It's a squeeze to swap to the eraser. A hell of a lot cheaper than having to double up on the sensors in each end. You'd basically need a double-sided pencil just for one function. Would it be cool to twirl the pencil around to erase? Sure. Is it more practical than swapping on the fly? Probably not.
Please don't complain about cost on a pencil they are already selling for $130 they could easily add one and still profit a huge margin, people would even be willing to pay a bit more for it!

It doesn't change that a squeeze feels very unnatural to anyone used to a pencil and its also easy to toggle it by mistake. Its a worse experience all around just so they can profit a bit more by not having to add extra sensors.

I'm sorry but PHYSICAL changes have NOTHING to do with marketing.

They can say 1600 nits etc for the screen but in real world usage it would never reach that.

No, you cannot guarantee that.

I can 100% guarantee that. They’ve been saying with each new product the screen is brighter etc. I have an iPad Pro 9.7 from 2016 and its brightness is the same as any product currently on offer at Apple. Identical.

Cannot make claims to something is not even out yet. Let's wait for the tests please.

It’s has less performance and efficiency cores compared to other chips.

It is when you reduce the amount of space for a battery.

Usually the batteries get bigger each release with new iPads and iPhones. So they’re actually increasing space for the battery.

HAHAHAHAHA.

End of the day it’s the same Face ID camera module and magnets just positioned elsewhere.

Speculative at best, but the camera is not the only reason the price may be higher (I didn't check).

I mean, you're entitled to your opinion on the importance of the changes (only as it applies to you), but not to your own FACTS.

I’m not saying the camera is the reason for the price increase. There is no reason for the price increase.

How is it speculative when it is actually missing the physical wide angle camera. The camera is worse than the model it replaces.

Basic math: 1,000 nits > 600

I see a failure in communication here.

It’s has less performance and efficiency cores compared to other chips.
Again, let's wait for the actual tests.

Right, which contradics your own earlier statement of "only marketing". The battery here is unquestionably different.

End of the day it’s the same Face ID camera module and magnets just positioned elsewhere.
Still exceeds mere "marketing".

Can't argue with a lack of rationality.

How is it speculative when it is actually missing the physical wide angle camera. The camera is worse than the model it replaces.
The speculation comes from us being worse off. Still, even if I concede this point, This iPad is a major upgrade from its predecessor hardware wise.

But it appears we're at an impasse, so I'll leave it at that.
