Apple Permanently Bans 'Infowars' App From the App Store

People can hate trump and no one says nothing but once you stick up to him your taken down, the evil left are disgraceful im proud to be right wing

You seem to believe that freedom of speech is something that the US government grants its citizens. It's quite the opposite:

It is specifically about how the government won't make it illegal. Freedom of speech isn't "legal." It's simply the baseline, and the government pledges not to interfere.

Then all is good. he is allowed to say what he likes in public.

I can't see what the fuss is about then. Public - yes, company property - no.

Thanks for explaining! :)

Exactly. Now do you understand?

Yes. That silencing from major public platforms is not the correct way.

It’s like being banned from speakers corner and then saying “well you can still voice your opinion in your own house” as a defence.

It’s ridiculous.

Why does hamas a palatine terrorist group wanting to kill people still have twitter

Because if they banned him it would be “racist”

Just like religion then.

But when multiple corporations that control a very good percentage of the voting public all silence the same opinion, what then?

Whether you agree with Jones or Apple or whatever, doesn’t this scare you?

What happens when they silence someone you agree with without your knowledge that it ever happened? What happens in 50 years time when this is conducted on a whole different scale?

It’s surpression of opinion and it is happening right in front of everyone’s noses.

Wake up!

I think you give them too much credit with the "control a very good percentage of the voting public". But if that's the case, you're making the case for me. If the current state of politics in the US is due to all the verifiably false information spreading on social media as truth, then I'm more concerned that they aren't blocking it.

But he isn't banned from saying what he likes on American public soil. Is he.

All politicians lie. All of them. Nixon lied. Kennedy lied. Bush lied. Obama lied. Trump lies.

So where do you draw the line? Are you proposing we outlaw lying?

But he has free speech. As discussed many times.

Freedom of speech isn’t much bloody use if no one can hear you.

You bet Trump lies, and he's called out for it time-after-time, yet many of his groupies believe and repeat whatever he says. Should social media sites provide an echo chamber for those lies without the factual context, after they've been revealed as falsehoods?

Yes they can.

Just not on Apple or Twitter. As is also THEIR right to do so.

LOL.

Alex Jones makes as much sense as a flat earther or young earther. It’s all 100% BS. Yes, I’ve listened to him on numerous occasions.

Deplatforming a political viewpoint.

Easy.
[doublepost=1536410064][/doublepost]

And all the rest.

Can’t wait for this to happen to someone you agree with. Maybe then you’ll understand why this is bad.

We'd be shutting down a lot of mosques, for example, if this is the way of it. But I'll wait while you explain how 'different' that would be.

Why would we be shutting down mosques? Are there any you could point to in this country that would be targeted?

Unbelievable, my head hurts from reading half the posts.

If you don’t like what Alex Jones says or the products he sells, be an adult and ignore him.

There are bigger problems in the world and far worse people then this guy, but here we are, judging him.

Good job everyone!..../s

It isn't bad. It is a company that I choose to put money into. If perhaps the company (that wants to market its product to me) doesn't want to play the way I like, I can put my money elsewhere. See how that works?

May I ask how you feel about MacRumours censoring speech - only people with a certain post count may discuss in political or social threads?

Do you remember what happened in Germany when people ignored things?
[doublepost=1536410453][/doublepost]
Yet the flat earth podcasts and apps remain on the same platform, so...

They aren't promoting hate speech. Just drivel.

Youtube, Twitter and Facebook all host content that breaks the same rules as AJ’s.

Their apps remain.
