iPhone photographer

I guess the photographer won't be doing anymore photoshoots for apple for leaking such info.

A reader is reporting to us that a coworker's tech-unsavvy friend, who is regularly hired by Apple to do marketing photo shoots, was recently brought on to take some shots of "the sleekest, sexiest damn phone he's ever seen."

so...
an Apple phone.... eventually. but are we talking about Apple offering service or just the phone?
if just the phone i'll be happy... depending on the network they go with, as i could always just upgrade/change phones.

CNBC Talks about iPod Update?

CNBC talked about an iPod update this morning. The tease seemed to make it bigger than just the hard-drive size upgrades (it was enough for a bank to upgrade to a buy rating on Apple's stock) - but I missed the story. Any one see it and is this more fuel for the Apple phone?

If i were to guess, it will be just the phone, and will be on Cingular's service. Personally, though, I would love for them to offer the service as well, and use any of the major networks.

A WiFi phone would be unlikely, in my mind. WiFi is not yet ubiquitous, so this would be of limited usefulness. Furthermore, WiFi is a notorious waster of battery life, and this device will have to be small to be successful.

I have a WiFi phone (the T-Mobile SDA) and it'spretty nice. Of course, you turn the WiFi off when you're not using it to save the battery. The nice part is that you can get online really well with it when in range of a WiFi connection -- much faster than Internet over the cell network.

i was thinking it would be just the phone. if its GSM it'll work with either Cingular or T-Mobile then. (i have the latter. :D ) hopefully they'll sell an unlocked version.

Bank of America analyst Keith Bachman upgraded Apple to a Buy based on increased MacBook demand and sales, a new iPod Nano late in the September quarter of this year, and an Apple phone to be introduced in the June quarter of 2007.

You know, IF an iPhone is in the cards, it would make sense for MWSF. Phones aren't as big of a Christmas seller as iPods... and it would definitely draw attention away from the new iPods that are coming sooner. So MWSF is a great time - sell everyone one more iPod, THEN release something new.

great, and i just signed up for 2 years with t-mobile. thats usually my luck. I think it would be like 200$ to cancel.. not worth it

If the phone is a GSM phone, then maybe you can buy the iPhone, get it unlocked, and then swap your sim card.

I heard the Orange network will sell the new Apple phone to compete with 3 - they are selling 1 million music downloads a month in the UK at the moment so will not sell a competitors music service.

Can you imagine the advertising.... Apple and Orange.... it practically writes itself!

The futures Bright. The futures fruit based.

Apple, Orange and Blackberry. Quite a fruit salad, really. Pass the cream...

Actually thinking about it - Virgin Mobile would be a good carrier - Richard Branson and Steve Jobs - now there's a partnership!

That way Virgin Mobile would soon be able to compete with Orange, T-Mobile, 3 and Vodafone (oh, and Tesco! lol)

I could be wrong, but isn't Virgin mobile a 'virtual' provider - i.e. they don't have their own masts, but instead lease the arse-end of vodafone's coverage?

Yeah - i think you are right, either Vodafone or T-Mobile arse-end.

What does that mean though? They are tied-to whatever the arse wants?

Hehehe. Who knows.

All I know is that my Sony Ericsson is badly faulty and they won't repair it - my body heat/perspiration has activated the 'water damage' indicator they put on the battery so that they can avoid dealing with warrantee issues - I'm most annoyed about this as I've been quite careful with the phone.

Therefore, I need a new phone as an upgrade from Vodafone, which I think i'll be entitled to in about a month. These Sonys only ever seem to last about a year.

no advantages.. it's just nice

Candy bar phones, IMO, and totally impractical for urban living. They pick up all the street and sidewalk sound. They pick up all the ambient sound in bars, etc. My RAZR picks up none of this, and I never have to pull my phone away from my ear to yell in the end of it (like every candy bar phone I've ever had). I REALLY hope the Apple phone is a flip.

And what is the DEAL with Verizon? Why do they always get the good phones first, and furthermore, why do people get Verizon. It's CDMA. The rest of the world is on GSM. If you travel internationally, you're screwed.

I can't see them going with a certain network. It'll be a sim-free GSM phone. Stop thinking so US-centric people. It's not the only market that Apple sells to. Also a partnership with only 1 network would make such a phone illegal in Belgium for example and probably some other countries as well.

That said, I don't really believe in an Apple phone. I'll believe it when I see it. I don't think I'll buy it unless it's cheap, and we all know that it won't be cheap :)

I wonder... is it possible that the phone will be sold on the Apple website unlocked for any GSM provider? If so, we can count on not having any discounted prices with 2-year contracts and most people will go with the contract price of a moto or something. On the other hand, Apple could sell more because they are open to all GSM networks.

Either way, I just want it to work with Cingular... if so, I'm all over it.

Are your networks not all 3G based? I am making video calls all day! -

Why not an iPod wristwatch?

WOW.......

Some stupid a$$ just jumps out of his sofa and says "I`m bored. C`mon lets have some fun" and posts his unbelievably crap story of a NON-TECH-SAVVY-PHOTOGRAGHER FRIEND.

And here we are. 250 posts and counting. I spent over an hour reading all this(didnt have anything else to do, BTW). This article has already got over 25000 views. So roughly that means over 25000 man hours WASTED just coz some jerk wanted to kill his Boredom. 25000 hours. ie 3 years:eek:

My advice to the jerk. There is no harm in making baseless rumors. It actually keeps us entertained until we get the real thing. But from next time please try and make your false stories a bit more realistic. So that atleast we can get really excited.

The Apple phone is coming. Everybody knows. But not this WWDC. May be paris expo. Or MWSF. But not WWDC.
