Yeah, let's just leave out the decade of steaming piles he directed between The Village and Split.

Honestly, if you're going to do that, you should probably leave The Village off as well. And possibly even Signs. Frankly, I don't care how good Sixth Sense was or how redeeming Split was, his track record is abysmal.
The village is probably his best film and signs in right up there. Just opinions man

The Visit and Split are great. Two of the most memorable films I've watched recently.

I haven't watched After Earth or Airbender (thank goodness) but I enjoy his films.

There really aren't any bad movies - just movies you didn't like. Even the worst movie still got people paid, and the peeps gotta eat.

Really?

You enjoyed "Manos: The Hands of Fate" in a non-ironic way, then?

Idiots? All of them pull in big audiences and make enormous profits consistently, and as a result are immensely wealthy. The fact that they all sleep fine on that pile of cash probably blunts your disapproval of their work. I'd argue that the real idiots are the "artistic purists" who are so insistent on their own vision and vanity projects being the only right option. Their work rarely appeals to any broader audience and they inspire no one. Exhibit A: Lars von Trier with Antichrist and Nymphomaniac.

I did not call any of those people idiots. I said that it was clear that if the folks in charge let *them* make a movie, they'd let any idiot do so. If you're going to criticize my post, at least try not to misconstrue it.

If you're happy with "bread and circuses," then good on you.

I love M. Night. Unbreakable, Sixth Sense, Signs, Village, and Split are all excellent films. Unbreakable is in particular one of my all-time favorite films.

He's had a few flops. Airbender sucked, except perhaps for the visual FX. I have not seen After Earth, the Happening, or the Visit (which I hear is OK). Lady in the Water was good, unique, and completely misunderstood as a film. Devil was actually quite good too (he wrote and produced).

His legacy may end up hinging on the success or failure of Glass, but he's one of my favorites regardless.

He hasn't done a good movie since the Sixth Sense.

"Signs". "The Village". "Lady in the water." I even liked "The Happening". So I'd say your assessment is not entirely correct. He was "only" the producer of "Devil", but that one was also very nice (at least for genre fans).

I liked the "Wayward Pines" series that was filmed in Canada. The first season could have stood on its own. It looked like they could not come up with an good twist for season two but I was curious what the writers were going to do in a session three.

There should NEVER have been a second season - nobody needed that crappy sequel. And, really, Matt Dillon's character should not have died and they could have left the stupid cliffhanger/teaser out.
