Well played! 😁
You know, that is a very clever joke… and a very true one.

But unfortunately we all know that is exactly what it is.

The rest is just Apple spin and hype.
They are paying marketing teams millions to spin a turd sand which to everyone. Trying to sell a new iPhone that’s basically the same phone from two generations ago is gonna make a lot of people to just hold out till the 15. And if the 15 is just a 14 with USB-C we’re all kinda stuck.

I'm gonna watch it (as usual) but I'm not going to buy any of the devices. I'm still happy with my iPhone 11. I only bought it last year and I think the only thing that could tempt me is USB-C (which I'm sure were not going to get this year) and some nicer color options, like the XR and 11 had (which I'm also fairly sure we're not going to get).

Come on, and remove a reason to upgrade to the iPhone 15? I wouldn't be surprised if they use a phase in approach with USB C. Appease the European Union, but the make the rest of the world remain Lightning for a few more releases.
I don't see any EU influence in this really. The updated iPhone would immediately benefit from USB-C improved transfer and charging speed, you could pair the iPhone to a external display, even add the ability to reverse charge USB-C devices from the iPhone such as future AirPods that utilize USB-C .

Looking forward to the notchless phone and finally upgrading from my series 2 watch lol. Hopefully they'll surprise us with the next AirPod pros but not holding my breath.

I find it kind of strange Apple will have their event on September 7, 2022. I think September 12 or 13, 2022 is a more appropriate date given Apple's normal schedule for such unveils.

I currently have 10 payments left on my current phone... Methinks I'll get the 14 in December or so (obviously paying extra to get the total of what I owe down). 13 -> 14 won't be a big jump in tech for me but im definitely going to get a higher capacity phone (got stuck with 128 GB when I got this phone). Looking forward to it. Also the W8 will be a nice upgrade as I skipped the 7.
I love my 11 pro max but base storage at 64GB is killing me. Depending on what prices are like I might upgrade to either a 128gb 14 Pro Max or a buy a discounted 13 Pro Max with 128GB.

I upgraded from 6 to 7 recently. It's crazy how much better the battery is in the 7. Yes, my 6 battery was worn down some, but I got 36 hours on my 7 recently and had 8% left before charging. It was attached to my phone all the time, and I didn't do any music or workouts with the watch, but to get that much time was really nice. Also, with USB C charger, the watched filled up in under an hour. It doesn't feel like a significant difference until you actually use it.

September 7 seems unlikely because it's the Wednesday after Labor Day in the US. September 13 and 20 (both Tuesdays) are more likely, especially because Apple can show off any Emmy Awards they win on September 12.

Does it really matter, though? We all know Apple products will be announced. They will ship weeks later. Those who must have the latest or need to upgrade will buy them that day. If you're happy with what you have, just wait.

The earlier the better!

How is Apple able to show off the Emmy Awards when they are already recording the event? The event is pre-recorded.

Apple may discuss and show off the Emmy Awards when new iPads get announced in October.

This picture doesn’t do justice to the ugliness of the iPhone 14. Prepare to be amazed.
