It's just comical at this point. One thing to remember, never upgrade hardware for software that doesn't yet exist.
Maybe Apple can use the idea for a sitcom on Apple TV

we could see the functionality introduced in an iOS 26.4 update sometime in March or April 2026
I guess they should put you in charge. They need to stop putting any dates at all on this.
Don't mention what year or season or anything.
"Within Apple, the original goal was to have the Siri features ready in the fall of 2024, alongside the new iPhone.
The target then shifted to spring 2025. The company had privately expected a rollout as part of iOS 18.4, before moving the target again to May with iOS 18.5.
By March, the company postponed the features indefinitely, saying at the time they wouldn’t arrive until sometime in the coming year. The delays stemmed from engineering snags that kept the technology from working properly a third of the time, Bloomberg News reported earlier this year.
This work needed more time to reach our high quality bar, and we look forward to sharing more about it in the coming year,” he said at the beginning of the roughly 90-minute presentation.
Federighi and other executives also sought to downplay the company’s struggles in AI, saying that the postponed Siri features were just a part of a broader push and that success in AI will be determined over the next several years."

Im on this boat too. I don’t think they will release it.It's never gonna release, and I feel for their dev team, I do. There's no doubt it works, but generative AI as we know it will not get them there. They cannot put enough guardrails on it. It'll get too much stuff wrong. And if it messes up one cal invite generation or one alarm setting, people will immediately never trust it again. They basically have until next spring to invent a new type of ai model haha.
II'm just curious, did you upgrade from the 15 Pro? Because those were getting the Apple Intelligence features too.
No, god no. The system Combs, Sales and Engineering are the two pillars of the conjoined triangles of success.Agreed, but Apple was doing lots of advertising "Get Iphone 16 Pro for Apple Intelligence". You can't let the marketing department do this, then not deliver. I worked in software for part of my career, so I know things can happen. But Apple can't let their Marketing department over promise.
Develop it, then advertise it, AFTER you know you actually got it...
A swinging pan to closeup shot of Tim's face where he let's out an exasperated "Oy" as the punchline to every mishap he has to experience or deal with as CEO. I would actually open the Apple Plus app to watch that.Maybe Apple can use the idea for a sitcom on Apple TV.
