they are a 1 trillion dollar company now. 15 million is nice but I was hoping for more like 100 million in a crisis like this.
But 15 is ok.

Why are you labeling people Apple Haters?
WOW chill. opinions are good.
The company is owned by the shareholders and we don’t want to run a charity. $15M is more than they had to do. Grow up.

I and the business I own pay our taxes: we don't use complicated tax strategies to mininmise tax, and how much tax does Apple pay in Italy?

(not bashing Apple, the same applies to Facebook, Paypal, Ebay, Amazon and many others)
Apple Pays more taxes than any company on earth, actually.

4 years ago apple paid $350 million in taxes to italy. Not sure what they’ve paid since then.

You can bet that, given Apple has already been increasing its focus on health for the last several years, that there will be pandemic-prevention-related products from them in the future. Doubt they’ll get into treatment, though.
There’s a company called Kinsa that makes Bluetooth-connected body temp thermometers, with a data app for Android and iOS. They’ve got a million+ devices in use in the US, and they’re publishing a heat map of higher than expected temperature readings (not necessarily COVID-19 related):

Florida looks concerning, though it may just be an atypical cold/flu season. Unfortunately we don’t have sufficient test kits to test those suspected of Coronavirus infection, let alone to conduct actual surveillance testing 🙁

Note that in Iceland half of all those who tested positive for the Coronavirus were asymptomatic:

I’d be concerned about Florida. Flu season should be wrapping up, and colds generally don’t cause fevers.

Nice gesture from Apple !
LVMH also started to produce masks and hand sanitizer, nice to see companies handling the situation better than government!

Don't think this was asked. A serious question, as I don't know the answer. If there is such a shortage of medical equipment, where is Apple procuring these items from. Purchasing them as they become available to defray cost to the countries they are donating them too. Or, are there stockpiles somewhere? I also applaud Apple on their move to supply these items.

FFP2 mask are heavily used by construction worked because of micro particles

Temperature and oxygen meters seems like a logical step, especially if it would fit a watch.
