But now we know

German apple shop have lower standard than USA.

it is nice to know.

just before they reviled the Apple Logo few days back.

reviled. Hmm, no .... defiled? no ..... ah, revealed, probably, yes.

It can be a lot of fun listening to a non-native speaker of a language. I remember getting a lot of blank stares the year I lived in Strasbourg.

"I think that word doesn't mean what you think it means ...."

Don't fear the East Apple! Bring one of these stores to every major City in Germany. Berlin is Capital so bring us an Apple Store there and "the fuhrer will (not) be pissed" as someone mentioned  Munich Berlin Hamburg would be nice for everyone. It would cover every little village in 250km radius.

And by the way - this building is ugly! I feel with the customers who are going to use it.

And in Germany we have lots of bureaucracy what can delay everything even if its close to be finished.

They should really open a store in Berlin. :)

Wow, I had no idea one was coming here so soon. I haven't heard much local publicity. It will be great to have one here, though I'm sure Gravis (local premium reseller) is bummed. I'll stay away until weeks after opening, as it's sure to be a mob scene. Shopping in Frankfurt is anyway a contact sport.

is there a reason why the url says "apple.com/de" ? Why not simply : apple.de ?

Please, come again?

The same reason they use apple.com/dk or apple.com/la and so forth. http://www.apple.com/choose-your-country/

It might be easier to manage, having all sites under one account, so updating will not be such a pain in the asymmetric photons.

German Construction

Sorry, but German construction can be the slowest and worst. Look at the Kaiserslautern Military Community Center (KMCC) fiasco - three YEARS and how many millions behind schedule before it finally finished? Ridiculous. I've been over here for six years now, and unfortunately, not meeting a construction deadline is sort of normal...thinking they will meet one is laughable

This store should be great. It's made in Germany, and you know the Germans make good stuff. Are you following me camera guy?

Maybe, but this is an American franchise and this Apple store will look just like all the others -- which basically is the sterile look of naked IKEA furniture in a big glass vitrine.

I just wish instead of building mega million dollar stores they would spread out and have a decent place to buy and review their products. I wouldn't care if it was a shack or trailer even. All thats within 150 miles is a best buy that only has a few items and a clueless fanboy that doesn't know anything or a local comp repair shop that I end up having to return 6 times to get a common problem solved. I traveled 262 miles back and forth to get a vid card replaced. I told them the problem and they didn't believe me.. then had to go back yesterday cause they put a G5 door on my Mac pro.

Is it so hard to put someone with some training and a brain in a small kiosk setting?

Yes it is because people with these skills want to do cooler stuff instead. Next time you get your "repaired" product, take 10 Minutes and look at it in your car before driving back home. This will make sure you spot the largest chunk of issues right in front of the "repair" shop. Just advice.

The G5 and Mac Pro doors are identical on the outside. Are you suggesting I disassemble my desktop comp in a parking lot in a run down area of town to inspect? Am I supposed to plug it into my cars lighter to see if the repair was made? Am I supposed to remove the vid card and see if there is a different Ser# now as they claimed they replaced it?

I think NOT

As a Brit now living in the USA for many years I can tell you when Americans want something built you don't blink it can be done in a flash and very high quality. Entire Malls can seemingly vanish and appear over night let alone Apple Stores! On the other hand I4's upgrade across Florida seems to be a project destined to never end ...

Any time a retail store does not open before Christmas, that is a loss. On the good side, when they announce new stuff at the January event, they don't have to remodel this particular store.

Weihnachten

Rocketman

exactly - should have been a significant reason for the inability to open as announced...

The only thing missing is Ploegers. It would have been perfect having a delicious lunch after the Apple Store shopping spree.
Oh well. Fressgass will never be the same.

Sniff...

What a bloody mess outside that new shop...
oh wait - isn't that Tiger Woods' car outside?!

Uero's love to talk smack about americans but the reality is they're lazy. They have no idea how hard the average american works to make a living. Uero's take their afternoon siesta like little babies because their massive 37 hour work week tires them out lol.
In the end they're so Jealous of americans because we rule the world as they become more and more insignificant.
They spend all their time blaming all their problems on america instead of doing something about it. When is the last time you heard an american complain about a Ueropean country? We just don't care what they think because they've become so insignificant.

Why did you flip the U and the E? You do realize that your Mac puts the red lines underneath words you've spelled wrong?
