Just a little more than a week left!
Steve

Yeah, I've got to admit I'm actually excited about this release. Although when I went into my local Vodafone shop and asked if they'd have stock on the 11th, they said that they'd already seen people walking around town with them. Sigh. They were talking about the old (current) iPhone and didn't seem to know about the 3G one. That's just great, considering we'll be the first to get them...

Did anyone notice that in the photo roll, the option to Send to Web Gallery is now absent?

While I realize a third party app should be able to do this, it's nice to have the option directly from within the Photo library.

The iPod video download is 38 minutes. He must explain every icon. I yawned so wide I almost swallowed my iPhone.

This comment made me laugh so hard that my head hit my computer monitor, I was knocked out for a minute or two only to wake mid laugh.

:D

Is that supposed to have something to do with MobileMe integration? They showed off being able to upload photos right to your gallery so how are you supposed to do that?

Did they change the SMS app as well. Email addresses and phone numbers used to have the blue arrow next to them for adding to address book. In the video it didn't.

EDIT: What is the computer icon next the the eject icon in iTunes during the part where he talks about how to add music and whatnot?

This video frustrates me.... The dude keeps on saying "The iphone 2 dot 'Oh' software..." IT'S iPHONE 2 POINT ZERO.... 2 POINT ZERO!!!!!!

Sorry dude, have to disagree. In the software world, its "one dot one" or "two dot oh" when referring to versions. Its never "one point one" or "two point oh", and especially never "two point zero".

I couldn't stand watching this guy waving and not waving and semi waving his hand when demonstrating the iphone. Can't we just have a guided tour without anyone waving their hands?

sorry, dude, have to disagree with you too. the final answer is that there is no standard way of pronouncing the software version numbers.

Will someone give me a true explanation about this????

Maybe the challenge is how to simulate the mouse without a mouse?

Treos and Blackberries don't have mouses, but you're still able to copy and paste text. This is ridiculous on Apple's end. The iPhone has been out for over a year now, and they haven't figured out a way to allow users to Copy and Paste text.

I dont know why but something about this video reminds me of the Dharma initiative... ::confused:

Did anyone even pay attention to the Video

Hey did anyone notice that almost all of the video is of the old iphone and not the 3g one. What is up with that. Apple is hiding something for sure. Well were all of you too distracted with that creppy guy and not notice that this 3g iphone introduction is actually of the 2g iphone. wft. correct me if i am wrong.

That option will only be available if you have a mobileme (.mac) account and will be called "send to mobileme gallery"

Understandble

It's understandble that Bob Borchers (senior director of worldwide iPhone product marketing) seems uptight and moves his hands too much in the video: he's nervous. He's shut down Apple's flagship store for the night, brought in a full crew with a technocrane, HMIs, butterflies, security, etc.... $100k+ out the door.

Bob knows he could have made the same video in a small studio with a paper sweep and a couple of spacelights. Steve will know too as soon as he sees it. It's just a matter of time til Bob's called on the carpet to explain the expenses. But for now he's got to forget all that and just deliver the lines....

I know this is a little off topic, but I've been working in IT since 1991, and have always referred to versions using 'point'. And yes, I've even called things 'two point zero'. In fact, that's how I read the new iPhone software version.

Perhaps it's a country thing? I speak New Zealand English, which is based on British English. Australian English and Canadian English are similar to American English, and American English is a product of Webster's Dictionary.

Push calendar

Does push calendar mean in both directions? i.e. I create a calendar entry on the iPhone and it pushes it up to my outlook through active sync.

What if no MobileMe. My company supports Microsoft ActiveSync but that's it. Would it still be the same?
