Great ad, although I liked the Photos Every Day ad more. These ads are very enjoyable and pleasing to watch, unlike those cheesy Samsung ads for which I just want to click "skip". Although my HTC One sounds much better than the iPhone, the message here is certainly delivered: more popularity is more important than better quality. Great job Apple, hope the other companies will one day follow Apple in creating great advertisements.

Can anyone identify the watch at 0:30?

iPod nano with a wristband?

I believe the lighter variant is usually used for the "iPhone 5" text, whereas the "iPhone" text is usually set as before.

You're right that the light variant seems to only be used for the iPhone 5 so far. The regular "iPhone" logo has never been that bold though.

Wow was just gonna post the same iWatch maybe lol

Looks too big to be a non-smartwatch. It's not the Pebble or any of the ones I've seen for the iPhone. It would be weird for Apple to put an Android compatible watch in an ad. But then again, what the hell is that guy drinking? Cue apple organic beverage rumors. Introducing... Apple Juice.

Interesting how these kind of ads are coming out while Microsoft and Samsung are going on the attack. Nice contrast. :)

The talking ruined it.
They shouldn't have anyone narrate anything and just have it say 'iPhone'...then the apple logo.
the talking is redundant - adds no value and makes it go down to a used car ad level of cheap.
The Macbook Air ad with the folio was great - conveyed the message. the thing is thin. it didnt need a random person saying 'lightest notebook in the world...if you want to be popular buy this!'...

Totally agree. The whole ad is people enjoying music, they dont need to tell us at the end.

I wonder if these are partly aimed at Wall Street--with that little reminder that, yes, the iPhone IS a successful product, not just a good one. So feel free to own our stock! (As absurd as it is that anyone thinks Apple is doing poorly as a business.)

Simple, colorful, engaging and cultured ads. Excellent job. Much better than the ones from other companies taking jabs and cheap shots at their competitors.
Totally agree. Competitors who take cheap shots at Apple in their ads obviously don't have any confidence in their product.

Note the age demographic of every single person in this video.

Apple are chasing a pretty obvious market here.

This is the first thing I thought of. Apple has (finally) realized that they are not as cool and hip as they once were. Samsung is quickly filling that role, especially amongst high school and college students.

Before you know it Apple will release a cheaper iPhone variant that comes in different colors...oh wait....

When I was in DARE in 6th grade, we learned the major advertising techniques that sellers of alcohol would use to try to get us to drink.

These new ads are the most textbook versions of what DARE called bandwagon-advertising, i.e., "everyone else is doing it."

It's not just alcohol - it can be literally anything. Bandwagon advertising works for everything - games, clothes, food, political parties, gadgets, etc.

There's also the hipster exclusive advertising which is kind of the opposite and yet kind of the same thing, "Only cool kids eat this. Only good looking girls wear this." And by virtue of the fact that 90% of people consider themselves better than everyone else, you manage to make everyone feel like they're being personally targeted and that your ad isn't meant for other people.

And once again, they throw away a beautiful ad with some dude talking at the end. Really?

Nice one. I just think that this sort of ad may enrage the more cynical 30%? of the population who would prefer anything but an ultra hip apple product. Ads that celebrate the individual appeal to everyone i.e. 1984 & "crazy ones." This exact same ad telling one person's story might be great. And I agree with someone who posted before about omitting the narration.
