Apple isn't a computer company anymore. That's Dell, HP, or Lenovo. Apple worked hard to become more than just a computer company, and now we're more than comfortable buying tablet, computers, TV boxes, music players, routers, and so on without any problem.

Thanks for the reminder.

And also glad they got rid of the guy doing the commercials before these piano ones...those were annoying (the one with the airplane aisle, etc.)

Regarding the tag line - you simply can't quantify it.

Even if the iPhone outsold any other singular phone 10-1 - how can you determine what % listen to music on one phone vs the other.

It's a nice ad. But I agree with the other comments about real life situations, lack of diverse age groups, etc.

They're not quantifying it. They're not saying more people listen to music on the iPhone, they're saying more people ENJOY their music on the iPhone. In other words, more people could listen to music on android or what have you, but they don't enjoy it as much as those who listen on an iPhone. We can't really argue that Apple makes the best music players, they're sort of the standard.

I am indifferent when it comes to 99.999% of all ads, nothing wrong with it and my iPhone is my portable player however I never listen to music in public as I like to hear what is going on around me.

Yes. You can easily argue it. It's purely subjective.

Exactly, it's subjective. You can't argue it. It's like arguing blue is better than green (which it definitely isn't).

You can argue it because it's not quantified.

Just like you can argue that iOS is the most advanced mobile operating system

Personally I think it's weak. The ad is good (again - despite the fact that it really is only geared towards hipsters or at least those under 25). I think the tag could have been left off.

That's my subjective opinion :)

I'm curious to see what evidence/data Apple has to support this assertion, especially when there are more Android phones in circulation.

I guess this would be true if Apple's referring to specific phone models and not phones based on OS.

Lol, it's pretty clear. Android is NOT a phone, yeah? They didn't say "more people listen to music using iOS devices than Android devices".. come to think of it, that's probably true as well..! =) Nice try at a debunk, though.

You could always quantify it with common sense??
If Apple outsold every other phone 10 to 1 (your example, not mine).. seriously, what would the chances possibly be that that other phone had users that were listening to music ten times more often? It would be SO astronomical, as to make your supposition preposterous.

And yet - iOS, not Android makes up for more web traffic.

Explain that one with common sense.

Maybe now you see my point.

With many unlimited data plan iPhone users tethering their phone to replace their home internet service and racking up tens if not 100+ GB/month it's not hard for iOS to rack up their web traffic.

Whether you love, hate, or are indifferent towards Apple, it must be conceded that their iPhone product is VERY easy to use. It creates a uniformity of experience by having so few models. When "ma & pa" choose a one penny Android phone.. common sense will tell you that is not a top tier or even middle tier phone. They bought a buggy piece of crap that will NOT get updates, likely has a small screen, a bunch of confusing hardware buttons, and does not create an enjoyable web experience. Thus, there is much more iOS traffic, despite there being more Android devices in use.
Unless you are going to try to convince me that there is an Android phone out there with a music app that's significantly easier to get to & more enjoyable to use than Apple's music app on iPhone, thus creating the possibility that users of said phone are more likely to listen to music on it than they would on an iPhone... no, no I still do not think you've made a point. If you have, I do not see it.

Android phones can tether and have unlimited plans.... so don't think that's an explanation

When you are as biased as you are - and post what I consider silliness - you haven't met any challenge. There could be many reasons why internet traffic is greater on iOS. And there's still no basis to claim that more people enjoy music on their iPhones than any other phone.

It's called marketing. It doesn't have to be a fact. Just like iOS is the most advanced mobile operating system.

It's simply NOT quantifiable. You can agree with the statement all you want. That doesn't make it fact.

that's because android browsers use webkit and that is the safari web engine and they get flagged as ios devices.

I have a few android tablets and when I make posts on facebook it says (posted from ios device).

If you wanna go from an audio quality standard, the Galaxy S phones offer much better sound output than the iPhone. They also support more formats.

"Both ads in the campaign focus on people actually using the phone, rather than just the phone itself."

lol.... Good idea... Better sooner, than later. :)

This batch of Apple ads puts me to sleep and creeps me out at the same time. Humanity without the noise or messiness of humanity. Everything's perfect, everyone's silent or muffled, the cuts are so quick you can't become interested in the characters. Advertising for the chemically lobotomized-- or the under-30 crowd, take your pick. No attention span, no empathy, only vaguely aware. Creepy, fascistic stuff.

Yes. You can easily argue it. It's purely subjective.

I gave my S II to my wife after a few weeks. The sound quality was downright terrible. Which was mentioned in one or two phone test as well. My Note is a bit better, but still falls slightly short. In more serious phone test I have read in magazines in Europe, they pointed out several times that the two top contenders for sound quality are the iPhone and an older Nokia model. ;)

The test one can find on Engadget or Android Authority for example are nothing more than product placement or paid advertisements :p

I know of no other phone that has a better music player than the iPhone. Although I now use a Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 as my main devices, my iPhone is the go to phone when I listen to music. It is the best for that purpose.

Androids music player just sucks in my opinion.
