The clip showed a bunch of lonely, isolated people that even have their earphones plugged in in places where they should rather listen to the nature around them.

Why does one thing have to rule the other out? If you see someone do one thing in public does that mean you make the conclusion that person always only does that in public?

I also reacted to the general age of people in the ad. One can use an Iphone and listen to music after 25 too, you know. :) But I guess Apple has specific targets in mind with these adds.

I did not know that only people under 25 listened to music, thanks for the info Apple.

And yet people get annoyed when ads point out that Apple's customers are "hipsters."

I don't think all of (or even most?) of Apple's users are hipsters. But Apple doesn't exactly market themselves that way...

And I'm sure someone like you could dig up some "interesting" mobile phone product release for last month when the Photo Ad of the campaign was relased...

Someone like me? Oh do explain.

Maybe switch to decaf. You're easily excitable.

When did it become THE iPhone? I am so annoyed when Apple refers to it as iPhone, as if that were its name. Glad to see them switch to calling it THE iPhone - like the rest of the world.

Can't believe they had the shower scene! My 4S now has no WiFi due to a white water sensor in the headphone jack from 'probably leaving it in the bathroom while taking a shower' according to the "Genius". I still think it was due to my updating to iOS 6.1.3, but that's a topic for another thread...

Pretty sure OS updates don't trigger water sensors. :D

Watch

Did anyone see the watch the guy was wearing in the add?

iWatch??? Hint?

because it's the new model, so its "the" iPhone. just like the new iPad is "the" iPad.

Agree - and also, I believe it's more about the overall brand. When someone ask you, "what kind of phone do you have?" most would answer, "I have an iPhone," not necessarily "... an iPhone 5 / 4s / 4 , etc;"

Also, for an add which highlights the musical features or 'iPod-ness' of the iPhone, would it kill them to actually show a Touch or a Shuffle in these commercials?

This is an iPhone ad. Touch and Shuffle are lower margin diminishing market products. Spending millions on an ad requires a payback, which the Touch and Shuffle wouldn't produce. Showing them would also be sending the message that you can get the same results from their lower margin products, defeating the purpose of the ad.

I also loved this ad very much. I second what others have said about the typography at the end, and also the narration. If they cut out the voice over and change the font to even the regular version it would be absolutely pleasant from A to B.

Seriously? How many times is this company going to market the music aspect of their products. We get it, come up with something new or stop beating the dead horse.

This is the Apple we all love here. I think this time they got it right. The essence of the Apple brand needs and enhance treatment like when Steve Jobs came back and start doing the Think Different ads. If this keep happening then Apple will be on top for a longtime. focus on the brand not on the products, let us the users decide what products we want to buy.
