Omg thank you Apple! I've regretted applying that previous update but I found out too late and there was nothing I could do but wait for another update. Finally they knew that the previous Airport Extreme update actually did more harm than good. Before that update, nobody had any problems.

somebody please tell me I'm not alone. My airport is still not connecting to my wireless router.

[Security Update 2007-004 v1.1 not showing up in Software Update on 10.4.9]

Hm? Apple posted three versions of this update: for 10.3.9, PPC and Universal. The PPC and Universal versions are meant for 10.4.9 and I would have expected them to show up in Software Update.
The MacRumors Article also mentioned a wrong setting in the FTP setup in 10.4.9. Why wouldn't Apple want to fix that ?

Just going by what was posted here:

AirPort
Available for: Mac OS X v10.3.9

This update corrects an issue where the AirPort connection may be lost after waking from sleep. This issue only affects Mac OS X v10.3.9 with Security Update 2007-004.

FTPServer
Available for: Mac OS X Server v10.4.9

Security Update 2007-004 applied an incorrect ftp configuration file for Mac OS X Server v10.4.9 systems. Users with ftp access, who would normally be restricted to certain directories, may be able to access directories outside the normal scope. This update addresses the issue by restoring the correct version of the ftp configuration file. This issue only affects Mac OS X Server v10.4.9 with Security Update 2007-004.

I imagine the other versions are for people that haven't applied version 1 of the update yet. But it doesn't mean that you would have to apply the patch if you're not affect by what the patch fixes

I was going by the support doc for the Universal version which said "is recommended for all users" who have either 10.4.9 or 10.4.9 Server. I've just tried the PPC-only version which seems to have installed ok. Strange.

Ok.. I lied about what I said earlier... I just applied this update, and the same error message that has plagued me since MB rev.B was released still appears when I wake my MB from sleep:

"There was an error joining the Airport network "-insert network name here-".

Uh oh... looks like I'm that user. Updater dropped in the QT stuff fine, but has been sitting on the "optimizing system" part of the Airport Extreme for about 15 minutes now, not budging. (Macbook running 10.4.9)

Anyone else seeing this? Anyone had a smooth update on a similar Macbook?

I updated a Macbook CD running 10.4.9. Ran smoothly. No noticeable differences in anything.

Is that a MB rev A or B (CD v. C2D)? I'm about to start the process on my rev B.

Not sure what CD v C2D means, but I assume it's a Rev A since I ordered it the day they came out.

Still sitting on "Optimizing." Tried quitting from the menu, but nothing happened. I'm a bit scared to force-quit the software updater.

My iMac 24 restarted with a white screen after doing the update...had to hold down the power button to get the flashy light! works ok now though...*meh*

Do NOT use WEP. Very, very, VERY BAD wireless security.

When are they going to fix the WEP security so my DS will work with it?

Do NOT use WEP. Very, very, VERY BAD wireless security. It takes less than one minute for someone with a sniffer to crack WEP now.

Wow, is it me or does everything seem quicker with Panther?

Another thing is for OSXPlanet now works again with the Quicktime update, good update!

Nice update :apple: !
