i was pissed off but what can i do?... i was gonna go to apple the 15th early in the mourning n pre order instore pick up but iam hearing that to pick it up in the store wont be avialible till the 25th or 26th?
I'm just going to pre-order it online and have it sent to the house. I don't see why I would want to make it more complicated than that. Of course, I can arrange for somebody to sign for it - so that's a common complication that I'm getting around easily that others cannot.

x2... when the 3g came out i pre ordered it from att and they said a week i let 3 weeks go by and no phone.. no type of update or anything... so i got upset i called in and they said YOUR ORDER WAS CANCELED??? am like ok why was it canceled and why no one notified me? they said i used my debit card and they dont take debit cards for pre orders so there for ur order was canceled?/??? i had some new kid pre order the phone and he dident kno that i guess but anyway apple was getting more shipments then att was so i went to apple directly and picked it up... but i was pissed about the debit card thing till this day i think it was BS
I don't get the debit card thing. You can use a debit card as credit or debit. As long as they can get their money, what's the difference???

it sounds like the ATT store or home delivery is a better option if there are problems/issues with activation or the account. I'm reading that the apple store can't handle account problems???

i just called att near me and they are telling me that pre-order is gonna gaurentee you one.. its not promissing one the first day it comes out, maybe a day or two later... what the pre order is gonna do is save you from having to wait in the crazy ass lines the night before... they said the ones they recieve are gonna go for people who are waiting with no pre-orders.. and the pre-orders can possibley show up with those or come days after....

The AT&T announcement said pre-orders wil be in stores by June 25th. The AT&T rep said the pre-orders are shipped with your name so they won't be sold to the general public. Hopefully it will be there June 24th.

If I have it delivered to my office, can I activate it on my office iTunes account; which is different from my home iTunes account? I thought I would have to activate on my main account.

In another thread about pre-order, someone had called his local ATT and they said if you pre-order, you still need to stand on line and doesn't guarantee you one. The caller flipped and hung up on them. It's like we get different answers from different ATT Reps. It's crazy.
That's generally determined by the sender, and not FedEx. IIRC, I think signatures were required by Apple and AT&T last year.
I think you can activate it on any computer that has iTunes installed. It would activate the same way as it would if you did it in the store. The only reason you would need "your iTunes" is to sync all of your apps/music/etc. Don't quote me on this, because I'm not 100% sure.
i would ask att cuz i got screwed on that... apple i dont see why they wouldent take debit but from my own personal expirence i got screwed with att cuz i couldent pre order with a debit card for some strange ass reason!
Thanks Steve. After seeing that the AT&T store would activate it on their iTunes, that sounded like a good option for when I get my new iPhone. Is it June 24 yet?

ur eligible now.. att released a statement saying ANYONE that has a contract ending in 2010 is eligble for a full upgrade...

I get that I'll be able to get a full upgrade at some point here soon, but my specific question is if I'm going to have to wait until after 6/20 to pre-order.
