There are also many reports of issues with external displays not working correctly with Ventura, or HiDPI resolutions not being offered. That needs fixing badly.

lmao what is MR's obsession with no 16.4?

If we don't need it then there is no need for it. Or do you want Apple pushing out crappy updates for no reason other than to generate views/clicks on your site? Jeeez.

I'm happy if 16.3.1 is the next update. When 16.4 warrants a release then Apple should do it but not for useless updates.

For me, my interest in new iOS and macOS versions are the improvements being made available in the Safari Technology Preview and wanting those features made available in the mainstream build of Safari. With that being said, things are going pretty well apart from a few hickups. I know one shouldn't compare Apple's platforms to what Microsoft is doing but I believe regular reading of the Windows forums and subreddits will bring many of the pessimists on this forum down to earth or to quote 'Fred Dagg' "We don't know how lucky we are".

Waiting for some time for a fix to the "Ask To Buy" feature for supervised accounts. Have an iPad used by a supervised account whose requests to buy apps from the apple store do not reach anymore my iPhone. Essentially the supervised account can not install new apps and games on the iPad!

Had a very frustrating interaction with apple support about he issue, after a couple of hours of troubleshooting attempts I was told this is a known issue and the apple engineering team is working for a fix, to be included in a future iOS / iPadOS release. Not indication when the fix will happen, not a chance to track progress, just told to wait and try every time a new release is available.

Yea, ummm, understand sarcasm when you see it… I don’t add a “/s” to verify mine. It’s either get it or don’t with me.

I’ve been running betas long enough to know how they work and where to find them. But I am truly grateful for your unnecessary clarification though. Apple is always looking for geniuses of your type.

Apple appears to be preparing an iOS 16.3.1 update for the iPhone, based on evidence of the software in our website's analytics logs this week. It's unclear when the update will be released, but it will likely be available at some point in February.

The same logs have accurately foreshadowed the release of several previous updates, including iOS 16.0.3 and iOS 16.1.1 most recently, so they have proven to be a reliable indicator of Apple's upcoming software releases. Minor updates like iOS 16.3.1 are typically focused on bug fixes, stability improvements, and security patches.

In the meantime, the wait continues for the first beta of iOS 16.4, which will likely be a more significant update with some new features. Previously-announced iOS features that have still yet to launch include Apple Pay Later for financing purchases, an Apple Card savings account option for Daily Cash, opt-in web push notifications via Safari, and more, but it's unclear if any of these features will be included in iOS 16.4.

Apple released iOS 16.3 in late January with support for physical security keys as a two-factor authentication option for Apple ID accounts, worldwide availability of Advanced Data Protection for expanded iCloud encryption, a new Black Unity wallpaper in celebration of Black History Month, Emergency SOS tweaks, and second-generation HomePod support.

Evidence of both iOS 16.4 and iOS 17 have also shown up in our website's analytics logs in recent weeks, as Apple employees test the updates internally. iOS 17 is expected to be announced at Apple's annual developers conference WWDC in June.

Let’s get that HomeKit architecture fixed please, Apple. My HomePod fleet is a hot mess and I’m not spending a penny on a new one until I know mine work as intended.
Same issue, they should fix the invitation bug for HomeKit users…

I have iPhone 13 updated to Ios 16.3 now battery is draining like a leak is anybody facing this issue too ??

16.3.1 should be a very minor update. Don’t think there will be many changes on 16.4 also.

As long as 16.3.1 fixes the icloud backup bug then I'll be good. In 16.3 it turned off the icloud backup and it gives me an error when I go to turn it on. I have the iphone 8 and yes I usually do the manual icloud backup BUT that option is GONE. I dont even have that option on my phone, it suddenly disappeared Sunday night. SO NOW ppl like myself can't even do the manual backup. Apple needs to fix this on ios 16.3.1 update.
