Apple appears to be internally testing iOS 17.4.1 for the iPhone, based on evidence of the software update in our website's logs this week.

iOS-17.4.1-Feature-Joe-Blue.jpg

Our logs have revealed the existence of several iOS 17 versions before Apple released them, ranging from iOS 17.0.3 to iOS 17.3.1.

iOS 17.4.1 should be a minor update that addresses software bugs and/or security vulnerabilities.

It is unclear when iOS 17.4.1 will be released, but the update's appearance in our logs suggests it will likely be available this week or next week.

Apple is also internally testing iOS 17.5, which should be available for beta testing soon.

Hmm, weren’t there rumors of iPad Pro and Air releases this week? Specifically an announcement today? I think they’re testing the update so that it‘ll be ready for the new devices.

I’ve not updated to 17.4 due to the EU’s interference with the software. I was hoping to see a post here about its functionality but alas no info makes me even more nervous.
What a load of horse crap. It won't affect you if you are out of EU and by not updating, you are missing important security feature of locking your phone if it gets stolen and thief knows your passcode. But carry on....

I hope it fixes {random problem I personally think is critical}!
I, personally, hope it fixes the bad battery life it has on iPhone 13, because my SE3 has the same A15 SoC and I wouldn’t like my battery to be much worse. Apparently, and according to iAppleBytes, iOS 17.4 improves the efficiency on all supported devices, except the iPhone 13. In the meantime, I’ll stay on iOS 16.6.1

Happy monday everyone!
Happy Monday
Happy Monday to you too!

I hope it fixes the overheating and Face ID. Nothing important y'know...

At times Face ID straight up doesn't work. They broke it before with 17.2 i think. Worked just fine out the box until I updated and was working just fine on 17.3. Now it's not working again on 17.4.

I even went to my Apple Store because I thought it was a faulty unit but the Apple store girl said they couldn't see anything in the logs and whatever tests they done didn't show up anything. They just suggested I make sure my phone is kept up to date.

My iPhone has also been noticeable warm since 17.4 even when I'm not doing much. I never had an issue at launch with it overheating (while many did) but this is the first I've noticed it get warm.

At this point I'm only going to be updating once we get bug fixes for updates. I'll be on 17.4.1 asap. If we get 17.4.2/3 i'll upgrade to them but I'm not touching 17.5 until 17.5.1.

You know? I’ve seen it several times, that Apple fixes a bug on certain build, but then, on the next major release it is Again broken. I don’t know how Apple works, but that would suggest they have more than one team working on more than one build, and if Team A fixes the bug on 17.3, but Team B keeps working on a fork of 17.2 for 17.4, then the bug is still present again. Same for battery drain, it is weird how some builds overheat and drain the phone’s battery, and other address it. It all seems too random for it to be a “I fix it, I break it, I fix it again, I break it again” dynamic.

But, as I said, this is just baseless speculation, no one knows how Apple works with their operating systems and their software teams.

I wonder if it fixes the volume randomly turning up full and having my keyboard go CLICK CLACK CLICK CLICK CLACK.

Who am I kiddin? This issue has been around for at least the last 4 years.
That, my friend, is a classic of iOS. I would even dare it is a feature rather than a bug, because it‘s been part of iOS since, at least, the iOS 12 days. And it is the main reason I disable the keyboard sound.

I wonder if it fixes Siri being at full volume and not being able to adjust it. Been like that since 17.4.
Does it work if you just tell her to lower her voice? I have your same problem occasionally except that it randomly lowers the volume to where I can hardly hear. I tell her to speak at 68% and she says I’ll speak louder. When she speaks too loudly, I tell her to lower her voice and she says I’ll dial it down. Hope that helps, unless you’ve already tried it. Good luck.

My mobile data stopped working day after upgrading to 17.4 - had to restart to get it working again.
Has never happened before (on this iPhone (15 Pro)) and has not happened again. Bug or bad luck - who knows...
