Kop mall is two buildings connected with a walkway so they don't consider it bigger that the mall of America. But it has more square footage.

They consider it 3 buildings… you can remember it as "PCP".
Plaza (Apple Store, JCPenny, Sears, Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor)
Court (Macy's, Eddie Bauer, Bloomingdale's)
Pavilion (Ethan Allen, some huge golf store, DSW shoe warehouse)

As a minnesotan, I am dissapointed. I had no idea until this post that the Mall of America wasn't the largest mall. Also, the apple strore in the MOA isn't top notch. Sure it's alright but with the white walls of the wing it looks almost dirty. At least it isn't anything like the microsoft store. Walked into apple and was talked to nicely by many employees, got what I wanted and almost bought a macbook. Walked into the microsoft store, asked a question to a guy who was on his phone, and then was pointed to an empty shelf.....:apple:

I live in the Philadelphia Suburbs and let me assure you that having the largest mall in the U.S. is nothing to be proud of. They're nothing but a tourist trap full of obnoxious teenagers, pushy kiosk staff, bored yuppy house wives, and other shallow degenerates.

That said, the Apple Store there is quite small and uncomfortably crowded at almost any time of day.

I personally prefer the Apple Store in Ardmore, PA over the KoP one. Why? Because the KoP store is often packed to the gills with browsers and shoppers alike. There have been times that I've gone for before-hours Genius Bar support and had to wait in line just to get my scheduled appointment time. So, hopefully expanding the store and assuming they're also hiring additional staff, the KoP store will be better.

Apple Stores are popping up like Starbucks. I live less than 15 mins from 4 Apple Stores with a 5th opening soon less than 30 mins away, and a rumored 6th three blocks from one of the other 4. Eventually they will reach a critical mass, and we may see stores actually close.

Yeah! Go Pennsylvania! We may be in debt, but if out Apple stores grow I'll have more respect for this state.

Ahh memories, I remember buying my first product from a retail Apple store. It was a distant year ago, I was but a lowly school boy on a field trip to Philly. We decided to stop at the mall on our way home. I enjoyed a nice cheeseburger from Five Guys then made my way to the back on the mall, where I proudly took my $30, slammed it upon the Genius Bar and proclaimed "Give me Snow Leopard or give me death!" To which the "Genius" replied, "What Mac do you have?" (This was during my Hackintosh days... so I had to lie  ) I modestly said "The plastic one. From 2008, and running Leopard" he said "OK thank you!" And I was on my way with a legit a copy of Snow Leo to hackintosh my MSi Wind.

So... this is good news to me. The store was small and very plain. It is as boring as the Lehigh Valley Apple store, but smaller.

Is the location changing in the mall? It is literally at the back on the mall and I almost couldn't find it.

Used to be a genius in that store. Wasn't a top sales store partly due to tax-free Christiana Mall being so close, but our repair queue was always outrageous being that there was no Philly store at the time. The genius bar reservations would fill up the day before, even with 20 geniuses hired and all queues open. All the traffic in the store required me to yell for 8 hours a day for a person 3 feet from me to be able to hear me. It was hot, smelly from all the sweat, and the ambient noise level actually fell in the range where it was recommended to wear hearing protection in a work environment.

The store move will be very very nice for those who work there every day, let alone the customers.

Yes, they will be moving to the new expansion that's currently under construction next to Neiman Marcus--basically adjacent to where they are now.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "back of the mall"--they are in the same section of the mall as Neiman Marcus, Cartier, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, etc..

Never understood the fascination with a big empty room containing rows of plain tables with Apple stuff on them.

What's so cool about an Apple store ?
You can get all that stuff online without hassle.

Is it the clueless inept jokers at the " genius" bar who never really offer a good solution other than buying newer Apple crap because they haven't the slightest clue as to how to actually fix a problem?

Is it the over priced accesories that will be obsolete in a year ?

Is it the hordes of people who stand in line for something that they could just as easily order online ?

I don't get it.

The Apple store is boring as hell

Lost in what ?!!

Apple only has a handful of products ! Like you have never seen an iPod or an iMac or an iPad ?????

I don't get it.

You can see it all at one 5 second glance

Well... believe it or not... is the most interesting store around... look at the others!!! It is boring, crowded and all that... but look around... that is why still better, the rest just stockpile things.

If only Steve Jobs had designed those confusing "you are here" mall map signs so I could figure out how to find the stores. King of Prussia mall (who was a king from Prussia, btw) is easy to get lost in.

K of P is named after a hotel.

who cares about retailer experiences...?

KOP knows they have heave heavy traffic and if a retailer doesn't want to pay a price then they can leave the KOP mall.

KOP takes care of parking, maintenance, and advertisement.

In my opinion most malls are run by greedy morons and Apple should leave KofP mall. But I suppose you work at a mall, probably in parking, maintenance, or "advertisement."

No one is forcing you to visit an Apple Store. It's obvious that Apple Stores are desired by buyers more than any other store in the world. No one is forcing any of them to use the Apple Stores either.

Your comments are a simple display of your concern over your perception of being so different than the rest of the world. Don't fret, everyone is unique and you will somehow manage to survive despite yourself.
