Fortune reports that Apple has issued media invitations for a preview of the company's fourth Manhattan store scheduled to officially open in New York City's Upper West Side at Broadway and 67th Street on Saturday, November 14th.
The store, located on the Upper West Side at Broadway and 67th Street, is well-positioned to get attention from the crowds and the TV cameras that will line the avenue for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade less than two weeks later.
ifoAppleStore previewed the new store earlier this month, showing off the "curtain" barrier currently shielding the store from public view and a high-level view of the store's unique glass roof and curving façade.

The Upper West Side store opening is part of a rush of several such high-profile openings as the company prepares for the holiday shopping season. Apple's first French retail store opens in Paris tomorrow, with a second French store set to open in Montpellier the following weekend.

Between the price of the real estate and the architectural design and building costs, that store must cost a fortune!

Quite the bold move for a company to be that extravagant in the current economical climate.

those stores bring in big money in many ways other than gross sales. Its advertizing and cool factor that can't be beat

Hi,

I would argue this is the best time for Apple to expand its stores given lower material costs, labour costs, and land values. A good time to be greedy.

Surprised Steve is ok with the little pieces of scotch tape holding the panels up.

Not scotch tape.

Those are the metal clamps that hold the sheets of glass together. Notice how they are arranged in a grid-like fashion.

It's beautiful. Now can we please have a store in Brooklyn where all the cool kids live?

That would be great.

Seems a bit like overkill to have two stores 12 blocks apart.

New store in the center line of cameras of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade? Talk about great advertising there.

+1. Great observation.

Quite the bold move for a company to be that extravagant in the current economical climate.

Sorry, but -1. Apple has posted continuously increasing profits in the current climate by marketing product superiority. Additionally, Apple has more cash on their balance sheet than they even know know what to do with, why not spend it on real estate while it's cheap? You can never go wrong with buying non-depreciating capital while it's cheap, the long run benefits will always pay off, no matter who you are.

C'Mon Apple, Open a store in Idaho already!

All we have are lame "Pretend" Apple stores that have zero customer service or knowledge on any of Apples Products.

Awesome to see these gorgeous stores opening but it would be nice to see more of them opening where they have no representation.

Maybe someday!

The manhattan markets are underserved, even with SoHo, 14th Street and the craziest store of them all, Fifth Avenue.

There's just too much traffic at each store. if you look at all four locations on a map now, you can draw a line between each dot and the shape will slightly resemble Manhattan's own.

They did a pretty amazing job with the location search and selection. Gotta hand it to apple's real estate team.

I have to say that the Ollie's next door makes some mean Chinese food...

Can't wait for this store to open though. Much more convenient than the one on 5th...

Sweet Jesus!

These stores are becoming NUTS!!

4 in 1 metropolis? This is beautiful.

Although I'd LOVE the amount of solid tempered Glass used in all these stores ... I'd like to see more solar panels. The amount of electricity cannot be cheap!
