Macbook Pro Refresh this week?

Just getting ready to buy a 13 inch MBPro and went into the local store today and the are offering the 13 inch MBPro for $999 plus tax this weekend only. Do they know something?

Why would there be a mac update at a IPOD event?

Just thought the timing was curious. The displays say check out the "New" MacBook Pros and point you to the 15 and 17 inch models.

Plus, isn't it widely rumored that iTV and new verison of iLife ( non ipod devices) might be announced. Just thought I would check before I plop down $999 to find out they are revamping the 13 inch.

Its called marketing. They want people to think the macbooks are "new" so they can sell them. Plus theyb were last updated back in April

The next update wont be at an ipod event, but rather secretly (meaning, no event) unless theres something major happening to the macbooks. The last macbook keynote was back in October 2008 when they updated the design to be unibody.

and the iTv/ Apple Tv IS listewd under the ipods on the website and is pretty much an ipod for your TV.

I'm new here and have never owned an Apple product. I'm planning on getting an iPod or iPad. Anyway...

This is sort of a newbie question...Will there be a live video feed from this event?

My HOPES for the new Touch:
Faster CPU
Retina
Back Camera
20 Free Songs from iTunes. LOL

Thanks!

:apple:

No, there are never live feeds for Apple's events. There will (most likely) be live updates on various tech sites, which include text and photos.

NO. but there will be video on the site later on that day.... not live though. there will be a recording of the whole event you can watch it on the site or download it via itunes, the podcast called "apple keynotes"

Could the image of an acoustic guitar signal wireless sync?

What doesn't need to be plugged in to create music? An acoustic guitar. Maybe this marketing image has something to do with the possibility that the new ipod touch (and perhaps ipod mini) will be able to sync to iTunes wirelessly. I for one think it's about time.

They'll have the keynote/event on Apple.com, but it's always later in the day and not live. I don't know of any good site that has it streaming live (if there are any)

All the other music events invites have highlighted the cord and music that needed a cord. To highlighting the Acoustic instrument and the mouth of the guitar with the logo. Plus Steves email.

I think wireless syncing has to be lock for this event.
The question is will it be to your home collection or to a cloud or options for both.

That...didn't have volume buttons

Inexplicably, Maximum PC gave good reviews to the Zune HD despite ALSO not having hardware volume buttons.

Heck, these should have hardware play/pause/etc. buttons (the obvious solution is having physical buttons with mini screens in them that are software controlled...)

Yerbabuena sure is buena! Looking forward to this event very much.
