After Brexit, Im surprised anyone is proud to be British. We did this to ourselves.

I wasn’t even proud to be British long before Brexit.....

My view is that we get charged higher prices in the UK predominantly because it has been the norm for so long and companies can get away with doing so.

That’ll be the tax that pays for things like hospitals and education....

I'll think you'll find that includes foreign aid to countries that don't need it
Billions to the EU to keep it afloat
100s of unelected quangos not doing anything
A major of London with 600 staff who just twitters all day
etc.

Without turning this into pros and cons of Brexit topic, can you tell me one positive of Brexit so far? Just one? Because theres a thousand negatives I can think of since we decided to leave the dreaded EU.

I wish it was just a £50 increase in the price of my phone. Brexit has shown how incompetent the government is.

Pretty typical that here in UK tech stuff costs 15-20%+ more than US... Apple at higher end of that normally.

In other news...
Edit: more helpfully, if you happen to be going abroad to a cheaper country, buy one there as long as its compatible UK networks, use it on hols. Or buy a UK one “tax free” in the airport, typically save half the VAT and the retailer bags half I’ve found.

Aren't you supposed to be paying tax upon return, Easy to bypass though, just throw the packaging away or send it home, a phone is easy to "smuggle" inside a country without paying tax for it.
Hell, there are ways around it although I think it's harder when living on an island, like the UK, If I fly from my neighbours country, upon return I won't have to pay the tax in that country, I need to do this in my own country, do you think I would do that.....;)

Makes it more likely we get independence in Scotland :) Not that I would vote to leave the EU for that reason.

Don’t buy the new iPhones is my advice. Buy last years at a more reasonable price as a lot of consumers seem to be doing.

I have seen some good deals though. Carriers are begging people to get the latest phones to boost sales and offering good trade ins and lower monthly bills. The UK has seen a 25% drop in upgrades and the retailers are starting to get twitchy.

I have this feeling regarding what is the collective mind in different cultures/countries:
While in Russia they're building hypersonic rockets with nuclear propulsion and China having ambitions going to the moon, in the US and UK it's about SLOFIES, ANIMOJI AND BREXIT.
...

OK if across the EU (if you’re quick!), may still be worth it even if you import and declare so don’t pay local tax but to pay VAT. Just depends on the differential prices.

You mean the hypersonic nuclear missile that exploded during testing causing damage and releasing radiation .... Sounds more like two monkeys f’ing a football to me. On your other example, wake me up when China actually puts an astronaut on the moon not just talk... USA actually put 12 men on the moon and returned safely between 1969-1972... China didn’t even put a man into orbit until 2003.

Apple produces consumer electronics. The media tries to get as many views as possible with controversial topics. I'm not sure how either of those have anything to do with military or space agencies.
