Apple will announce the all-new Mac Pro Cube, with the all-new M4 Extreme chip...

Mac Studio & Mac Pro (Tower) upgrades still set for 2025, forcing those who need high-end macOS power to buy the Cube...

;^p

My issue with the mouse is only the design. I love it from a functionality point of view, but it's so bad for anyone without a very specific small hand. The charging port is fine, it only annoys those that fail to charge it until its dead.

Still, it's a pity they have no ultraportable Macbook in their lineup. The M processors would be perfect for such a device. Instead, we have an "Air" that is not much different (in terms of size) from a Pro and clunky iPad Pros with a Keyboard that run the useless iPadOS (for work-related tasks).

I really want to go back to using an iMac again but I have the M1 Mac mini and want to see how the new mini will look first.

So, what about an M4 MacBook Air? I have an M1, and it's just fine for everything I do, but hey, the AppleCare warranty expires in 6 months…

That's right, everyone, this is a HUGE week for the Mac. This week, Apple will announce the BEST, MOST POWERFUL, MOST CAPABLE Macs that Apple has ever released. This takes things to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL. And Apple didn't stop there. These are the FIRST EVER Macs built FOR APPLE INTELLIGENCE! This changes everything, all over again.
Ah, I see you tested the ChatGPT integration with the prompt "act as an Apple keynote speaker".

Nope, tomorrow there is an announcement just like there is on wednesday. People need to start using logic when assessing situations. When Apple invited press for 'hands on' sessions for wednesday that already implies that all important will be out by then. It would make zero sense to have hands on session but don't have the rest of stuff announced. Apple always does hands on when things are public.

It says week so tomorrow there won’t be an announcement, wait until Wednesday

reply 44 above:
"I think they wanna make it smaller for future buyer to better differentiate the Studio from the Mini."

I wouldn't be surprised if next year's upcoming m4x Mac Studio gets a slight "size reduction" as well...

Macrumors, don't be lazy by reposting an older article with rumored specs for M4 MacBook Pro. The M4 iMac is out, so we know most of the specs/options of that entry level machine.

Specs:
- 8-core CPU/GPU or 10-core CPU/GPU
- 16GB, 24GB, 32GB memory
- 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, 2TB storage

Rumored:
- 3 thunderbolt/USB4 ports, up from 2 in M3 generation

Now I know why they cancelled the Apple Car.

The base model of the MBP 14 M4 needs to start with 16GB and 512GB. No 256GB, all other MBP 14 models had a minimum of 512GB storage.

If it follows the M3 pattern, the bottom 8/8 is only for the low-end iMac (and the low-end MacBook Air). The base MacBook Pro will start with the 10/10.

I would use it as a full blown Mac at my TV (with wireless keyboard/mouse too)

I started with a mini as jukebox then videos and finally, full blown Mac use at the big screen. Now, any device short of those capabilities feels constrained. You can get stuff done with a keyboard/trackpad.

If they knee cap the Mini with 32GB it's a pass until a 64GB model arrives. I have no need presently for a Mac Studio as most of my recording gear has been converted to Rupert Neve Designs analog hardware gear. No more plugin compressors, limiters, summing stacks in Logic Pro--just straight out 96kHz Mono tracks to 5059 RPN Summing Analog gear via db-25 ports. Offload what few I have in LiquidSonics do just fine on the M2 Pro Mac mini. Soon acquiring hardware delay and either the Eventide H9000 or Bricast M7 but either way automation access on those pieces don't task my system.

The only thing that does is Spitfire Audio Abbey Roads Two Professional but not that much. Orchestral Tools kits task more but never to force overloads.

No need for amp plugins when you have outboard gear. The Drumkits are the only stuff I need worry about. Bass, Guitar, Piano all outboard. The MKII S88 I use sparingly.

I have zero use for AI. An M4 Mini would be used for software development and/or Numerical Analysis/CFD/FEA for fun projects in Mechanical Engineering.
