Anyone noticed that in the end it says in small text: " iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro max have not been authorized as required by the rules of the FCC. These devices are not and may not be offered for sale or lease or sold or leased until authorization obtained"

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Yeah, I saw that disclaimer on their website. And I assume that’s what the 3 week delay is about.

Haha so many Samsung employees posting here trying to trash Apple's advertising and the iPhone 12. It's so obvious especially after Samsung posted that embarrassing message mocking Apple about the phone charger. Give it up Samsung. Your product sucks, that's why your jealousy is rearing it's ugly head.

I like Apples marketing, but I generally don’t think consumers care about ‘speed’ anymore. They’re using their phones the same for things like social media, music, etc. The features that sell the newest smart phones Are camera upgrades, colors, things that are simplistic that most consumers will understand and care to actually appreciate.

I think this year the message strikes a chord with a lot of people because of the unbelievable power and performance of that A14 bionic. Apple has taken its SoC to new levels of unrivalled greatness, and they've built for us the most futuristic and forward-thinking iPhone the world has ever seen before.

“iPhone 12: it’s the iPhone 5, but with 5G*”
“iPhone 12: it’s the iPhone 5(G)
*5G not available where most people live
Check out Apple’s old iPhone slogans. They haven’t used “powerful” since the iPhone 6s. It was about time for a recycled word.

Actually, the "low-end" phones almost always still receive the latest processor, same as the flagship phones. For example, all four iPhones just announces feature the same A14 Bionic chipset.
CPU isn't the only dimension of hardware capability, and that's an understatement. Usually the camera is the biggest differentiator.

Makes you appreciate how snappy our phones are and even slow 4G/LTE is blazing.
Also makes you appreciate how bland Apple’s tv adverts have gotten over the last 4 years or so.
Anyone remember the “there’s an app for that” ads?
Or the “people” ads?
Or the ads where Apple sucker punched Verizon while their eyes were closed?
Or the “ if it’s not an iPhone, it’s not an iPhone” campaign?
Or when they brought it back, four years later.
Or the funny celebrity Siri ads?
Or the ads that actually explained apples decisions?
Here’s a couple other good ones:

All of these ads actually give me a reason to buy the phone. All their recent commercials are just cool close-ups and special effects. It’s like they’re trying to make car commercials. All style, no substance

If it wasn’t the most powerful iPhone ever, it’s be violating Moore’s Law. I understand advertising new phones, but most powerful ever is such a ridiculously obvious fact. Phones get more powerful every year.
Moore's law is that "number of transistors on a microchip doubles every two years," and people usually think of that as CPU speed doubling every two years. Actually that hasn't been true in a while.

Exactly because we don't need an article about Apple....on an Apple enthusiast site. 🙄

Well, it is kind of boring and repetitive. I don’t think that the entire ad campaign should need to explicitly say this, year after year. Show the phone doing things (or doing them faster than competitors) that highlight the phones speed and convenience. Camera focuses on a user and asks “Where else can you get speed and features like this” and the user looks up at the camera and says “Nowhere but iPhone.”

I wouldn’t want that type of ad campaign year after year but come up with more ways to show people rather than tell them.

I ordered an iPhone 12 Pro, I get a new one every year... its my vice. That said when the commercial for the "most powerful iPhone ever" focuses on people getting blown around their home and doesn't really demonstrate a feature... thats because there isn't an obvious feature to demonstrate. This year's upgrade is a good one, but the regular 12 steals the show. Every year is different and I have no doubt some pretty cool stuff will come to the Pro lineup again someday, but this year its just "ok" (I'm a camera guy too... but I think the hype, even for the Pro Max, is overblown compared to what the end result is going to look like. ProRAW might be the best thing in the end.)

Every year Apple promotes the iPhone as the 'best-est' ever iPhone. Nothing new here. It would be interesting if Apple could promote the iPhone as the most powerful smartphone on the planet and then actually prove it to be so. Qualcomm would quickly come out with a SnapDragon 8XX++ and give it to Asus or some other company that makes gaming smartphones that would use vapor chamber cooling, external fans, and 12GB of RAM and Apple's iPhone boast would be toast. It's good the iPhone is among the fastest smartphones which should be enough to keep consumers happy.

The Cookie Monster ad is still my favorite ad apple has ever done.

Why don't you turn it around? If this were your company you'd be promoting in redundancy until your audience turned blue in the face, and don't even try to deny it. If you deny it then you're not a good business person. Apple didn't get to a 2 trillion dollar valuation by under-promoting their product. That's not how good business works. Another thing, just because YOU are tired of seeing Apple's redundant ads doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. There are a lot of Android customers that are sick of Android and Samsung's crap and have never tried an iPhone. This ad is targeted towards them, not you. I never understand why MR members act like they are Apple's only customers.

the CPU and GPU are the most powerful in any smartphone of any kind. even last year's A13 remains faster than the current best Android smartphone processor. when apple talks about power in the iPhone, they honestly only compare against themself at this point.

that said i'm not saying that pure processor power is enough to keep consumers happy and there is a lot more to it, but when it comes to CPUs for now there is only one player in the game.

The cookie monster was a really good one, even better was the Cookie monster behind the scenes.
Can't find the original, quality is a bit lower.
The funniest part was when Cookie monster asked if the cookies are ready, and then impatiently repeats "How about now..how about now...how about now...how about now...how about now...how about now.........

Spend your money wisely:
- 5G that can't be used (5G is almost nonexistent in Minnesota ) ,
- a USB-C to Lighting cable that I can't use , as I have no power brick for it, never needed one
- the LIDAR sensor is a not at all the precise (whom ever has an iPad knows this)
- the pricing from their website and keynote is not true for unlocked phones
- Dolby Vision it's self contained feature, it can't be ported to social media (not necessary a bad thing but just to much over-sale for what it is now )
-to me the faceID is not that great , COVID made it worse

So is the iphone 12 the most powerful one to date, YES . Is it the best iPhone ? NO , not for me. My impression is that the design language is great , but the rest of the features are just a mixed bag of great marketing and bad reality. All I am trying to say is that the phone has become so personal that everyone thinks Apple should do that or the other.. in fact all Apple is doing is trying to sell its most popular product (not in the most honest way - again, personal random brain fart ) in the worse time of the last 10 years . So yeah most powerful iphone , I just don't need it anymore. BTW I was very excited Tuesday.
Spend your money wisely.

What you said is absolutely true. It's not the best phone for you. It's literally impossible for a company to make one product that's the best for everyone. Companies try to make the best product they can that will suite the majority of their customers needs. Clearly they have done this and I think the sales figures will show this.

What's the point of the most powerful phone ever, when it only has half the features of other phones? Why can't the most powerful phone do split-screen? Why can't the most powerful phone have a better AI? Power means nothing without features. Oh wait! Maybe it's to power the already outdated introduction of very limited widgets!
