It’s actually called research. Glad that Apple is doing this
Thank you for posting some common sense here.

I've come to the conclusion that Apple could release a product that is perfect. Does everything. Never fails. Has a battery that needs to be charged once a year for an hour. It washes dishes, cleans the house, gets the kids ready for school. Name a task, it can do it. It is the most amazing thing ever created by humans. It brings peace and tranquility to humanity. It ends hunger and poverty. And it costs just $99.

I guarantee you, there will be messages here telling us that Apple has failed. Some people will simply never be happy. In fact, the only thing that makes them happy is complaining about everything and anything Apple does.

Wow. This would be an insanely useful product if it responds to voice commands productively and not useless like Siri. And also needs a way to be folded/packed up flat so you can take it with you, or have it be battery powered. So its your personal robot companion that lives in your backpack or purse.

It can provide light for technicians/mechanics, maybe even as a medical or dental assistant.
Yaaay you “get it”, unlike nearly everyone else around here with no brain or imagination.
 
Genuine question: Who is going to benefit from such a product?
… for example elder people, who increasingly lack social interaction. Or people who like tech to become less „techy“. Or kids (and grown-ups) who like to have a tech pet (“Aibo”, anyone?). Or people who don’t judge everything by efficiency and usefulness alone. Or …
