Apple today provided a behind-the-scenes look at how its upcoming Vision Pro headset is manufactured in a video uploaded to its YouTube channel. The video was also shared by Apple CEO Tim Cook on social media platform X.

"A peek behind the scenes to see how we make Apple Vision Pro, our first spatial computer," said Apple, in the video's description on YouTube.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the Vision Pro in the U.S. today, with pricing starting at $3,499. The headset launches February 2.

I really wanted to get one, not for the consumptive stuff (although that looks nice), but practically for a portable "60'" display that I can take along with my MacBook. Unfortunately, we have some pricey home projects that are holding back my purchasing trigger finger...
I really look forward to real-world reviews (not hybperbolic YouTuber sensationalism). :)

where are the explanations? specifically on the engineering, the process and complexity? this video transmits like it's just another headset, people need to know how ambitious this project is on all aspects, software, hardware, optics etc.

it's like the most advanced technological consumer electronic device made in the last decade or maybe ever.

Man they are really really pushing this solution that doesn't have a mainstream problem to fix.
Sometimes a product launches that isn't trying to fix a problem.

The iPhone launched not because phones were problematic but because Apple thought they could do something different. I think that's what they're doing now. AR/VR -- sorry -- Spatial Computing is just starting to take off, and Apple wants to define their niche in this emerging market.

It's easy to look back now and see what problems the iPhone "solved" in the years after it first launched and I think 10-15 years from now we'll see how the Vision had a similar impact on the market.
