Mine last. I still have the charger and 30 pin from iPhone 4 circa 2010 charging my iPad 2. So I don’t agree.

I bet you can find a single person who never had a problem with the butterfly keyboard either

Maybe it was even you

So things are either black or white? But I’ll bet one can find more than a single person who hasn’t had an issue with the butterfly keyboard, maybe millions.

They are probably going to switch to a VERIFIED PURCHASE system. Which makes sense. People just pile on negative reviews for dongles simply because they dont like the fact they exist.

Agreed. I'm actually someone who hates that I need a headphone dongle in the first place to use my wired headphones, but I can honestly say I've had zero problems with my dongle, and that's with constant exposure to handling because I keep mine attached to a nifty holder that's attached to my keyring ... so it probably gets a lot more abuse than it may have even been designed to endure, and yet -- thing works just fine on the (admittedly rare) case I need it.

No complaints about the quality of their headphone dongle here, and it's unfair to leave a negative review of it just because I don't like that I need it. Also, I must say I didn't find the price of this particular dongle to be at all objectionable, it was surprisingly well priced for what it does and the fact that Apple does tend to overcharge for these kinds of things.

Begining to lose patience with Apple. we have the right to say if we dislike a product!. but all Tim clearly thinks about is the money in his wallet.

"Beginning"?, lol. Currently my next laptop purchase will be something that runs Linux well. They need to rethink what they are doing. I was handed one of these new "Pro" laptops at work. THANK GOD, I didn't pay what they charge for it. This is by far the worst quality Apple product I have ever had and I have well over dozens in my possession. I am currently in plan to divest many of those use cases. Somebody needs to tell Timmy that Apple stood for great quality, utility, and user experience at a premium price. Now it is some weird cult fashion statement or something.

For gods sake they kept at least the premium price. By paying 450$ for 16GB extra storage you really cannot complain that it is to cheap.

It may have something to do with this video from fstoppers "Apple Fanboys, Where is your God now?"
The reviews came down the next day, though this may all be a coincidence. That video may have forced Apple to really examine those reviews hanging out on their website.

Stopped watching after “Tim Apple” came out of that guys mouth.

I know, right? “Here’s to the crazy ones...” was obviously about the staid business types focused on quality and utility. That wasn’t a weird cult fashion statement.... was it?

”Because the ones that are crazy enough to pay a premium price on quality and utility are the ones that do.”

YouTube opinion shouting at its finest. Who needs 1 star reviews when there’s these people around trying to sell their own hot air.

I've been plenty crazy by that definition plenty of times. But I've seen a visible drop in quality and utility. I guess I've been to see a shrink? Or maybe they just need to rebase some more and stop depending on that Apple logo so much to guarantee sales? That only lasts so long.

I feel this guy. Every time I try to point out that Apple has some quality and decision making issues of late, the frothing ant pile of idiot fan boys start raving about how I just hate Apple. Let me TRY to count my invest level:

Developer Program
probably 12 iPads of various types
2 Apple watches
8 Apple TVs
3 Macbook pros
2 Mac minis
2 Mac Pros
2 iMacs
God knows how many Airport Expresses/Extremes
3 iphones
... etc. etc.

Oh yeah... I really hate Apple. This is where I start saying it has become a brand thing and there are brand zealots on the loose. You can see them in this thread right now.

It just always strikes me funny how people think the “weird cult fashion statement“ JUST started a few years ago. Apple has ALWAYS been a brand thing, and when Steve was there, they had a position for EVANGELISTS!! This isn’t new. If quality has decreased, it’s because quality has decreased, NOT because all of a sudden this new brand thing messed up all the quality. :)

You feel a guy that‘s frothing but you don’t like the frothing of the idiot fan boys. SO, frothing is fine as long as the frothing supports your point of view? I’m generally anti-froth m‘self. LOL

Fair enough. It’s irrelevant whether one listens to Tim Cook or not. That’s not going to change anything at Apple. (Whose valuation narrowly beat MSFT today)

Sorry I stopped reading when you brought up the valuation.

~puts hand up ✋~

I have a 1st generation butterfly keyboard in my 2017 MacBook Pro. I like it and so far I've had no issues with function or reliability🤞

The guy is a total egomaniac, of course they weren't taken down because of his video.

Agreed on the frothing (did we say that enough yet?), I just was sympathetic to getting beat up whenever you try to point out some pretty obvious missteps when it comes to Apple. Sure, maybe the cult has always been there. Fair point on quality dropping because it just is. I wasn't trying to attribute causality. More around the level of blindness it takes these days to get that froth going.

Oppressive like MR forum as of late with any factual criticism that conveniently gets categorized as off topic, political, etc.

It’s based on a published set of rules I thought. Do you find enforcing these as oppressive?

Is it just me or are reviews also missing from the TV app now as well? Instead of audience reviews I just see Rotten Tomatoes scores.

Apple is eliminating all criticism of its products and services. It started years ago when Apple Maps was such a joke they made it the only app excluded from reviews.

At the launch of the MacBook Pro 16” Phil said the keyboard was the most requested change. He didn’t mean Apple were listening to customers, he actually meant they needed to work harder on shutting up their customers.

How can Apple eliminate user reviews, and criticism from the internet? It can’t. Apppe doesn’t have to pay to provide a website for these reviews though.

Except for the fact that the reviews disappeared long before that video ever appeared.

It's just like the guy on reddit who though he had made the breakthrough discovery that Google Photos was storing HEIC files intact, and not compressing them like JPEGs, which brought the recent wave of stories from the tech press, when in fact that was evident to anyone who had been paying attention for at least some time.

But, they do both get to bask in their 15 seconds of internet fame.

That it took such time for anyone to notice that Apple had pulled the reviews are the truest reflection of their value. I'd rather have them than not, but they were of poor value even by the overall low standards of site product reviews.

I will be the first one to call Apple on on their BS but this may be a good thing. There was a ton of fake reviews on products that wasn’t even out yet. Hell there was 3 reviews on the brand new battery case for the 11 with people giving it 5 stars saying it’s great and now they have 3 days of full battery. Even though it was a 5 star review it was a fake review because no one could possibly have the case hours after Apple announced the case. Hopefully Apple will have a “verified” purchase like amazon and bestbuy has.

It’s very possible Apple gave them to a few employees or contractors to test. Some could’ve also been stolen in production facility.

I’m not saying they aren’t fake, just that it’s possible they could be real.
