Absolutely useless messenger. For whom are these whatsapp, viber & telegram? For communication, it is enough to have a FB messenger and a iMessage.

What the actual f...?! Its hands-down the best multi-platform messaging-app out there. It features end-to-end encryption, it has perfect synchronisation of messages between devices, they give you dark mode, they have awesome gif integration, stickers, everything. The client has a minimalist design and it keeps getting update on every single platform, even Windows Phone/Mobile for those who might use that.

I do enjoy iMessage, but if I was capable of getting all my contacts to use Telegram I would. It just so darn nice, easy to use, lightweight and everything you could ever want from a messaging platform.

Exactly. A messaging app where "messages are heavily encrypted and can self-destruct" is used for what? Who needs that?

Facebook Messenger? I'm not sure if you are trying to be ironic or not.

You don't need more information. We know how these apps works and we know that anything can transferred using those apps. I'm pretty sure there are people using iMessage for child pornography.

Applying that logic Apple should pull Safari as well, along with all the other Internet browsers, File Transfer Apps, Messenger, Skype, Signal, Email...everything.

I do so hope you were being sarcastic here...

Just another useless messenger app.. won't be missed.

How nice of you two have been elected the god emperors of everyone else. You pair may not personally use it but millions do and would vehemently disagree with your posts. Ever thought of not putting your thoughts above everyone else's?

So they can't have an opinion? Who's playing god now?

Probably the Chinese govmnt asked them to pull it because of encryption and we know that Apple bows to them over freedom because of the love of money.

An opinion is 'I don't like the app, feel it's bloated' or 'I feel the app makes it too hard to...'

Telling folk who love the app that 'It'll not be missed' and that they should 'Use something else' isn't an opinion - it's stating that the person stating this doesn't have the least consideration for anyone else.

I personally don't like Facebook. Hate it in fact, I find the service lumbering and nosey.

Billions love it though and I'd never even begin to feel it should be removed just because I personally don't like it.

On Google’s side they don’t like ad-blocking apps on the Play Store. Not a good thing either.

For people who need messenger that is working regardless of how bad internet connection is? For people who care about their privacy? Do I need to mention there are countries with oppress regimes like Russia? Maybe because it’s open source?

Well... At least we can sideload app from trusted sources. Such as APK Minor... I have sideloaded several apps without any issue.

If that is the case, Apple need only pull tHis app from Chinese App Store. Why would Apple pull from US store as well?

Apple did pull all VPN apps from Chinese App Store, but kept there VPN apps in US. Why Apple can't do the same.

It is has nothing to do with China and Chinese government. Why would you guys always pick China as excuse?

I think its mostly got to do the app rating, where you need to mention upfront if this app is capable of sharing/displaying inappropriate contents, if so, rate it accordingly.

Disagree. This thread isn't just for Telegram lovers to commiserate. In the users' opinion, it's useless to him/her and won't be missed. Not sure why you take exception to that?

100 % agreed ! Apple censorship in a democracy ? C'mon I'm a grown up it's up to me to decide what apps I should install as long as it isn't against the law !
Nothing to do with democracy here.
The app store is Apple's, they choose what they can have in there.

If you were a grown up and want to install anything that you want, you would already be using Android and sideloading APKs.

"I won't miss it" - Personal statement.
"It won't be missed" - Statement that you don't care about anyone else's thoughts and that your 'opinion' on the subject is all that matters.

You may want to try out Wire, which is always E2E encrypted, and not just if you explicitly set it to (which in Telegram disables multi-device IIRC, but it's been a while since I used/cared for Telegram). Wire is open source, and uses the "Proteus" protocol (pretty much the "Signal" protocol reimplemented in Rust).

Wire is my favorite messenger for cross plattform communication. I use Signal and WhatsApp as well, but those don't work on iPad, plus using one's mobile number as ID is a double-edged sword. In Wire it's optional (use the web or iPad to sign up, not your phone).

Any from all the ones you mention is fully capable for communication, it depends on whats popular in your region/country. China mostly uses wechat, India uses whatsapp mostly and telegram, US (not sure) uses iMessage with others too...

That is true. However, the adblocker will function as a VPN (with the logo in the taskbar) and as far as I know you can’t use two VPNs at once. You could root your phone and install adaway but that might be a security risk (and not very beginner-friendly)
