I'm UK and I ordered about 2am on the 8th. Still says Delivers on March 16 ;)

Mine too. I still think it sucks though. If Apple are committing to release in so many places at once, they should be honouring orders based on time, not country. (e.g if someone from the UK orders at 01:05:32 AM and someone from the US gets an order in at 01:05:33 AM the UK order should take priority).

IMO I'd rather Apple stuck to a smaller release like they did last year. US, UK, Canada, etc on 16th with more following a week later, then more another week later. Not all in 2 weeks, with most being on the same day. That way people dont get disappointed when their orders are pushed back.

It's laughable how angry people are about getting a brand new item a few days later.

Really hope everyone who complained has some real **** hit their lives, maybe they wouldn't whine like 5 year olds at christmas who didn't get what they wanted.

I don't think any shipments are getting diverted as we have different power sockets to USA.

[To the tune of the song “I want it now” from Willy Wonka]

After 3

I want my pad…..
I want my ipad
I want to have it delivered on time, its my dam device
Don’t care how…. I want it now!!!!

Mine shipped :)

32gig/4g/white

Shenzhen, China 03/09/2012 8:40 P.M. Departure Scan
03/09/2012 4:31 P.M. Origin Scan
China 03/09/2012 6:22 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

BTW, I ordered the "smart" cover and that was processed and shipped seperately right after I placed the order (shipping origin probably different)

I ordered at 23:57 on the 7th when the UK Store was actually working again.

I'm still good for the 16th and will be dammed if that changes.

I wonder what Greece thinks about all this whining?

Well, if the 20% the UK Government gets from each purchase helps cover the debt we're writing off for them, then they better feel damn good about it! [Disclamer: I really have no idea about economics, this is not a serious opinion]

Well, I'm based in the US and I haven't gotten ANY email about when mine is shipping. I got a confirmation email stating that my order went through and I can expect it on the 16th but I haven't gotten one of these "Your order is ready to ship, here's your tracking number" emails.

But then, I also ordered a new Apple TV, so maybe that's the delay. I haven't seen any shipping confirmations online for the Apple TVs, so maybe they are waiting for that to be added.

I'm getting it delivered to my wife's work, so I want to be sure it's coming on a day she will be there. Also, I spent so much time waiting for the Apple Store to actually load when I was making my order, I don't want to find out my order is being delayed. :p

Wait. My order just turned to "preparing shipment" yesterday about 8pm. 16gb black wifi. That mean it can still be delayed?

i have no idea. i didnt get any yet. but all my order info is on the website, and apple store app. my new ipad smart cover has been shipped though..not much good without an ipad lol

if i get that mail, then i'm tempted to queue up. not acceptable for preorders to be late imo, especially as apple have already taken money.

if they are going to be late, they should give you the option of instore pickup, and then deliver your ipad to the store later on

They didn't actually bill my account until it shipped...

The logistics of an enormous worldwide launch like this is absurd - that they can predict delivery at all is pretty amazing....

Any Canadian pre-orders showing shipped yet? Mine still shows processing, however they gave Canada a bigger delivery spread, March 16-20. More importantly, no one has delay notices in Canada yet right?

I think people are whining as you say, because they expect higher standards of apple in being able to gauge supply and demand and then alter the date. Fair enough if it was totally beyond its control but a company like apple should be able to give an estimated date within a few days at most not 5 days later. But like you say, its not the end of the world now is it.

Uh, you are aware there's a weekend in there right? So a delay to the 21st is actually only a slip of three working days which would fit in your definition...

While we're on the subject, come on my fellow brits, this is almost as embarrassing as seeing one of us whine about the US price being massively cheaper and forgetting that we pay VAT. If there's a general delay it's a pain, yes, but it'd still only be a few more days. Considering how every other electronics company tends to treat us that's still pretty bloody good. If it's just a few people, or areas, then it's unfortunate for them but, again, isn't the end of the world. Blaming it on the USA is silly, comparing the logistics of shipping to our little island versus half a continent even more so. Stiff upper lip and all that folks :D

UK Belfast....

Mines changed from 16th to the 20th.... Got the Email but the online status still says 16th...

Ordered mine minutes after ordering went back online too

Pisssssssed off!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered mine right before 4PM EST on March 7th. Got the email about the order but haven't gotten anything about Shipped yet though. :(

I haven't been charged...

...yet, is this normal?

Delivery showing for 16th (processing). London, UK.

Ordered one Thursday evening UK, asked Joan online chat if I can pay outright instead of finance if I chose finance and didn't like it. Turned out you need to cancel it to change payment method. New shipped dated were 2-3 weeks instead of delivered on the 16th. Phone queues were 40 mins average. Spoke to a. US-based girl with a very sexy voice. Cancelled order, will get one in store in London. Just hoping queues will be shirter than the phone queue (that beat even my mornings queue with Barclays they lasted 20 mins & Lloyd's 10 mins until I hang up).

What the point in pre order. Ordered on 7th march at 11.38 after sitting refreshing for 3 hrs. Now delivery on Monday 20th. Not happy at all

I don't know if this makes any person in the UK feel better, but I'm in the US and have not received any shipment notification. I ordered 2 64GB 4G+WIFI (AT&T) models plus an Apple TV. My order still shows as processing and I am concerned as well that my order may be delayed. :(

Absolutely disgusting to be honest. Firstly UK fans were treated poorly by the store being completely messed up for over 4 hours longer then what it should have. Finally the store came back on about 11:45pm! People saying 11.30pm are completely wrong..i seriously was by the computer for 4 hours pressing refresh and my order went through at 11.52pm on 7/03/2012.

Makes me laugh that they are obviously just showing more care to their USA customers but it was UK who were the first country to have pretty much every Ipad sell-out first!

I preordered a White Wi-Fi 16gb model..My order status still states 16th March and as of 3.40pm (UK-Time) i havent received a email saying my preorder has been delayed.

Then USA customers get shipping notices just to rub it in our faces! Great way of treating your fans.

Overall? Awful handling of this new product and even though it could potentially be a 2-3 day delay is still very unprofessional.

I wouldnt be suprised if they delay the whole launch in UK 'again!' to make sure USA get all our allocation.

This made me laugh. The USA has 5 times the population of the UK. That means they DO care more about USA customers. By the way, UK sold out of theirs first because they were allocated waaay less.

If you don't like how "unprofessional" Apple is, then don't buy their products...but you still will ;)

Face it USA >>>>>>> UK

Wait until they start focussing on China. Let's face it China >>>>>>>>>> USA

Received an email from Apple today saying my order will be delayed until 21/03/2012 :(

Ordered a Black 32GB WiFi model and I live in Perth, Scotland.

@MacRumors:

I spoke to a Customer Service Assistant this morning; if you ordered on the day of the announcement (when it still said 16th of March delivery) you WILL receive it on that date. The woman stressed the "WILL" strongly.

Any later orders (when it now says the 18th/19th) will be delivered on said date(s).

Just to clear up any misconceptions.

Thom.

I don't think that's true.
I spoke with Apple today and the lady said that you 'may not' get it on the 16th due to shipping delays. She said, "We try to have it delivered on the first day, but we can't promise it will happen."
