I just wish you could disable the "repeat" and "snooze" function in Bedtime. Presenting me with the option to snooze is the best way to get me to be late. And having the alarm repeat at the same time tomorrow is stupid if you wake up at varying times every day and work an irregular schedule.

I run 2 sleep apps, sleep watch and auto sleep. Every night for years now. No issues.
I've have been doing the same and even had pillow running at the same time-never an issue with the battery. I'm on S5 gps 40mm and have not changed my routine.

If you had to choose one app to recommend, which one out of the three would you choose?

To anyone complaining about AW5 battery life, I’m running a WiFi-only version on the latest WatchOS.

I ran a test yesterday and got a total of 25 hours with 5 hours of that on my nightstand (not charging.)

That was with no workout but a lot of notifications for email, whatsapp, etc.

Can anyone recommend an app similar to this in the mean time?

Something with a silent alarm on the watch that won’t wake up my wife!

I was using pillow which was really good but know all it does is crash for me.

Pillow is a subscription right? And no free trail to try!

I think you can use it for free but you get some extra features if you upgrade to the full version. I've never had to subscribe to anything for it. One time purchase for feature upgrades. That was a year or two ago though.

Why run two? If you had to recommend just one, which one is better? What band are you using that with for maximum comfort?
They show different info. I've had two nike edition watches with the two different types of bands you can get with nike. And both are fine. If I had to pick just one it would probably be autosleep. But there's no need to pick just one.

The Apple Watch does have a silent alarm. If you turn on Silent Mode from the control center your alarm will just vibrate.

I don’t know how anyone would use this considering the poor battery life on AW5

My question is how do you sleep wit it? Battery life isn't enough.

Charge it while you shower. Charge it while you poop. Charge it while you get ready for bed. At night, with do not disturb on, the Watch isn't doing much. The screen isn't lighting up with notifications.

Battery life isn't an issue. The sleep apps aren't hitting your battery. The watch is already collecting sensor data. These apps just apply their alogorithms to the data that is already being collected. If you install a sleep app now(depending on the app) it will show data going back months even if you weren't using a sleep app as it's just using the sensor data that's been recorded.

I lose about 7% battery over night. Not bad at all.
I also charge when i'm doing my evening routine so I go to bed with 100% battery. And I charge again in the morning while i'm doing my morning routine and then go to work at 100% battery. It's a non issue.

I'm curious if you can tell the Apple Watch v5 to operate like the old ones where it only lights up if you raise it. It should be optional. Nobody seems be able to have an answer to this.

The AOD has to be turned off but on AW5 go to Settings>General>Wake Screen if that’s what you’re referring to?

You could use AutoSleep-

You want AutoWake for the alarm. It will give you haptic feedback

For sleep tracking, I use both AutoSleep and SleepWatch, there are aspects of both that I like. The notifications of SleepWatch are somewhat annoying but by responding to them, you are gathering additional data points.

If you are using manual mode in pillow it will use about 75% of your battery life overnight. It won't even let you enable it if your watch isn't fully charged., or close to it. Not sure what it is doing, but it is certainly hitting the battery.

Sadly pillow was the only one that ever came close to getting my sleep time correct, instead of just my time in bed. But I just could never get into the habit of fully charging it up before bed and then fully charging it up first thing in the morning. So I went a different route with Withings Sleep.

I've used pillow. Recently too. Not for an alarm. Just tracking along with my other two apps. It didn't hit the battery any harder. I just don't like how it presented the data and stopped using it. This was on my series 3. I haven't tested it since I picked up a series 5.

I’m really hoping to see a nice jump in battery life with Series 6, but I’m not holding my breath. Maybe go from the stated 18hrs to 24hrs? If they can cram a battery 10% larger in size and and improve the SoC efficiency by 25% it might be possible...

Do any of these sleep apps any of you all use NOT not require an iPhone app to be running nearby? My old Pebble watch (which has long been my "nighttime watch" while the Apple watch charges) has finally kicked the bucket and I'm desperately looking for a silent alarm that can wake me up at an optimal time (within a range) when I'm tossing.

I'm not sure about nearby because I have my phone on my nightstand. So you're looking for an app that will wake you up when the watch detects that you're tossing and turning through the night or you're looking for something that will wake you in the morning? AutoWake has a silent alarm that will give you haptic feedback. I also have an alarm set on my phone and receive haptic feedback on my watch. You can also set alarms on the watch itself.
