I just received a refurb MBP 15.4 2.5 GHZ today and other than the plain white box everything looks brand new. I can't believe this thing was ever used, not even the faintest mark to be found. Even the power brick and cords look to be new judging by the packaging.

I was pleasantly surprised to find ilife 09 in the box too. I'll definitely go for Apple Refurb again.

Same here, but with my refurb MBA.

This is probably a stupid question but can someone post or pm me a link as to where i can buy refurbs from apple?
Thank You!

store site

you just go on the store web site at the bottom left corner it says special deals each country site is different so i wont post the site since u might be some where else.

Sorry my bad! But I did search, and didn't find much right away. I do agree with you though, but sometimes it's better to engage people in the now opposed to trying to breath new life into an old post.

Thanks to all who shared their experiences, it would appear that refurbs are a "good thing" in the words of Martha.

Cheers

The guy complaining about repetition has been SERVED! GG

Refurbs are nice! Apple since it was born!

Bought one refurb iMac G5 where I work about two years ago. A year later, bought one iMac Intel. It wouldn't boot. Took it to the local Apple store and got it back the next day. It's been fine ever since. Both machines look brand new...even now.

I am so pleased for the good info and numbers coming from this thread. The poll speaks a lot.

I hope this thread helps others as much as it helped me.

Got My refurb MBP

My 15" MBP Refurb came in Friday and was flawless. Not a mark on it, fired right up and was set up in minutes. Had my programs loaded up and surfing in about an hour. Im coming from a great old war horse G4 Powerbook, but this MBP is absolutely so far superior it isnt even funny. My G4 was and still is great, but the MPB is incredible!:)
The buttonless trackpad is no prob to use right off the bat, and the glossy screen is great for colors and contrast. Don't know what all the hoopla is all about that the trackpad is hard to use, or the matte screen is preferred. And as far as a Refurb..... I'm glad I went for one.

If you can get an academic discount, oftentimes refurbished isn't for you.

If you want to buy refurbished, make sure you compare prices. Sometimes the savings are actually not much of one.

But in some cases, it kicks ass. The current champ is the MacBook Air. $800 less than the cheapest new model. And the only difference is the graphic card. Sure, the graphic card is a substantial upgrade, but if you want a secondary computer or a "super-netbook", get the refurbished MacBook Air.

That's exactly what I just did. Couldn't have said it better myself. If a refurb deal is only $100, the education discount is definitely the way to go. Much more than that, however, and it doesn't make sense not to go refurb'ed.

IPod Refurbished

okay, so most of the reply are about the laptops... any takes on the ipods? i'm getting my ipod replaces because my battery kind of jumps back and forth from green to red zone, i tested it on my ipod mini and it doesn't do that so I was under warranty for only 4 more days so i thought just getting itreplaced, but i'm not sure about getting a refurbished ipod cause i dont want to later on getting screwed. if anyone bought a refurbished ipod a least a year ago, is it still good? i'm just iffy on it cause I won't have the warranty like if I was to buy a refurbished one. I feel like the refurbished laptops will be looked at better cause they are more pricey. So if anyone can please give me there take on a refurbished ipod they have bought in the past...
