It's possible that they do a silent update via a press release this month for the Mac's especially if they are just spec updates and no new designs to announce. They have done it in the past, on some random Tuesday they have updated Mac's via press release.

The iPad Pro will probably be announced in September alongside new iPhone's and new Apple Watch.
I don’t see them wanting to overshadow the iPhones with a huge raft of hardware like WWDC 2017 so I think MacBooks this month or maybe next, followed by iPhones and a new iPad in September could be plausible (though I would have thought an iPad launched alongside iPhones would have been running iOS 12?)

Please, please, please listen to your customers. We don’t need vanity metrics like thinner and beautiful product hero shots which only please your design team and frustrate your customers.

Reliable keyboard with key travel and are quiet. An honest 10+ hour battery life. Ports on the pro model. Decent resolution.

Honestly, look back to the older models your pros miss and lament and put it in modern components. We don’t need thinner laptops for no reason.

And get serious about MacOS. We all know you folded the MacOS group into the iPhone group, and it shows it the lack of innovation and bugs.

I’m tired of every respected pro I know switching to Surfaces or at least considering it. And Windows, while still isn’t great, is getting better, and it’s doing so quickly. Your stagnation in the Mac line has not been ignored by Google, Microsoft, and Adobe.

Hell, even dumpy Twitter canceled their Mac client.
Thin and light are exactly what MBP customers want. And not just Apple’s customers, all the other laptop manufacturers offer a similar form factor.

The part that in my opinion indicates new Mac mini is 5 new iOS devices. Two Wi-Fi only iPad and two LTE models, so there is one device left. I believe it is new and first ARM Mac mini model. ARM is powerful enough to handle basic things, and A12X will be ok for browsing, writing and watching movies. Remember my words, first ARM Mac is coming xD

Good point - for the Macs it’s mainly spec updated expected right? Maybe could even happen in July?

If that’s the case then September for iPhone + iPad + Watch could be doable. I imagine new iPhones & iPads will get A12 together (first time since 2014). That’ll be quite nice to have them on par again.

Yea that's more or less what i said, the only thing i'm not sure of is the rumoured 13" MacBook, will they want to show that off and announce it at an event OR will they just say something like "and we are introducing a new entry level 13 version of the MacBook at $999"

The other Mac updates to the MBP and MacBook can be done by a silent update this month, they will only get spec updates (hopefully quad core for the 13" MacBook Pro) which they don't need to announce at an event.

September will probably be the iPad Pro, Apple Watch Series 4 and the iPhone's.

I'm another desperate for a new Mac Mini - my mid 2011 is definitely starting to show it's age although I may just keep it around running High Sierra and the current version of macOS Server just to maintain it's current VPN server role given that most of the actual "server" functionality is being ripped out of the next version.

The only reason to regret buying a new MacBook Pro instead of keeping an old MacBook Air is money. I have a MacBook Pro 2017 and can't imagine having to use a MacBook Air. They're horrible.
For my clients daily use, MB 12" is slow... or suffers from occasional hiccups, compared to Air 13" they had before. Could be the retina, that has more than three times the pixels in addition to the lousy CPU/iGPU. And boy the dongles have been a mess. We had to wait several months to Apple to fix their OS in this regards, because after wakeup, the Apple dongle had to be unplugged and put back in order it worked. And when they bought 12" MB, it didn't work with the Magic Mouse's they already had. So they had to replace every mouse. It was a software bug in the OS, that was fixed later, but they needed a working solution right away. And then the keyboard... keys stuck sometimes.

The MBP 13" 2017 didn't work with the USB type-c displays they had. The laptop gets power and USB-ports from the display, but does not show a picture. So... the second USB C port have to be used as well. So much for a simple one cable solution the MBP was bought in the first place.

Both models were extremely expensive and poor quality. My client is really thinking, that those were the last Macs they had. Some users have been requesting MB air 13" instead of the 12" models for their daily tasks. There's not a single portable Mac model out there I could recommend them today. Macbook air 13" and MBP 15" 2015 model are the only quality products that Apple sells today. The rest are bad quality dongle-he**'s.

Yea from rumours i have seen the MacBook Pro 13" is rumoured to be getting quad core while the 15" will get 6 core processors as for other updates i'm not sure. It's very possible that Apple will announce them via a press release later this month.

This appeared not long ago, it kind of all fits into place and the timing might be right for a July spec update of the Mac's https://9to5mac.com/2018/07/03/geekbench-new-macbook-pro-2018/

New MacBooks will be announced before the next iPhone and iPad, likely in the next 30 days.

Adverts for MacBooks are all over UK TV and Apple always sends out one last push for existing products before launching the next shortly afterwards.
They usually get discounted too right before the new macs come out.

I’m going to guess it will still have a butterfly keyboard.
I doubt they will have redesigned the keyboard by now.
That's why I carry a cheap-ass BT external keyboard with me all the time.
(and yes, it's embarassing how Cupertino makes me look like what they actually are themselves: a mere bunch of lunatics, led by a computer illiterate reverberating in postPC terms)

If they're still offering only butterfly keyboards without major reliability improvements, my next laptop will be a ThinkPad. I hope Apple doesn't force me to go there, though.

They won’t change from butterfly keyboards but they will probably have fixed the issues going forward.

Please:
- a redesigned keyboard that doesn't fail
- at least 10-hour battery life
- PRO port selection
- 32GB of RAM
- make it thicker for all this extra stuff
- MagSafe USB C - not necessary, but would be nice
- kill the touch bar with fire and never bring it back
- touchscreen would be nice but maybe later, there are more critical things to be fixed

It's pretty funny how when I was doing my BSc degree several years ago I was wowed by the quality and battery life of the MacBooks. Nowadays I'm doing my MSc and am the only person with my Surface Book who walks without a charger every single day, and people get wowed by it instead :D

Exactly, when my daughter needed a replacement for her Air 2011 last year she certainly didn't want the current MBA13. The screen "quality" is enough to make you run a mile in the other direction.
She wanted a 13 inch MBP and that's what we bought. If there had been a 13 inch MB available at the time, we would have got that instead.

Finally we start seeing some hints of a refresh around the corner. Apple has been neglecting the Mac line-up for too long already. I hope we also see some keyboard improvements. I honestly don't think they will launch the MacBook(s) alongside the new iPads. Since they clearly advertise the iPads to be a PC replacement. It would be weird to launch a laptop (new MacBook 13'') that is just a little bit more expensive than the iPad Pro at the same event...
Well we knew there was going to be a refresh this Fall, this doesn’t really tell us anything but does provide solid evidence of the 13” MacBook.
We will see keyboard improvements.
The whole iPad and MacBook positioning thing isn’t really significant within Apple, it’s something that’s been built up by the press. We could see them launch alongside each other, as we did at WWDC last year, but in my opinion it’s more likely that well see the iPads alongside the new iPhones and watches in September, with a separate Mac event in October. Although that’d be because the iPad will be receiving the new screen design like the other iPhones and Watches, and MacBooks won’t be the only Macs that are refreshed.
