Apple is seriously rolling out some hardware this year.

It only looks that way...since they've been dormant for most of the year.

According to the buyer's guide here on MR, most of their products haven't been updated for about 400+ days with the Mac mini topping out in the 1300+ days.

So the two new ones were registered as running iOS 11, meaning they will likely be getting released sometime before iOS 12? Soon then?

I would love to see an even larger form factor iPad for professional use. I'm also interested to see the price point they will introduce for these iPads, given their new technology. Will they 'sock' it to the users for the R&D costs, similar to what the iPhone X was demanding during its introduction? Time will tell.

Wonderful news. Can’t wait to see what Apple has in store.

What I would love is a keyboard with back-lit keys and a slot for Apple Pencil. Extra credit if slot can inductively charge next generation Apple Pencil. But honestly, just a slot so I always have my pencil with me would go a long, long way.

Hoping this fall is exciting...

An iPad without a bezel is the most ridiculous idea ever, how would you ever be able to hold it in one hand? I often false tap whilst holding the screen of my iPad 10.5" model. Even less bezels will spell the end of the iPad, mark my words. I can’t believe this rumor is still outing the wild

How do you think we hold iPads with thin side bezels? From the chin or the forehead? iPads with grip rejection have been around for years. Try to keep up.

Would be awesome if its like the mockup with no notch. Would be an upgrade for me if this is so. My air 2 is great, but I cant resist!

What I’m curious about is Apple going to diversify the keynote where they will have the Apple Watch and iPhone for one Keynote and an iPad for a separate event? It seems that the iPad is going to have a fairly large launch this year based off the rumors, which I think might hold a separate event for perhaps three different size iPad models.

I’m hoping for a new Mini. It’s the *perfect* size for travelling.

it's also a great size for younger kids and with grade schools looking at using education apps. if the mini was updated to be a smaller version of the 6th gen it would be perfect. they could use that 'crayon' that was announced with the 6th gen

Yes, that's what I want mine for too. The larger screen display of the Mini, compared to smart phones, is much better for viewing maps. Watching movies, reading books etc also better on the larger display. Doesn't take up too much room in my hand luggage.
I use it locally too, in my car in place of a street directory.

Even if Apple decided to leave the bezels on this one I would still snap one up. Ultra slim bezels would be better.
When I use my current Mini I hold it by the case anyway. My left hand barely touches the display. Thus I really don't see any issues even if it was completely bezel free. Bezel free would look super awesome though!! :D

So come on Apple!! Give your customers what they want. If you want to call it an iPad Mini Pro and charge more for it I will still hand over my money. :D

Seems like I‘m in the same boat as you guys. Can‘t wait to get a new mini, less bezels or not. It‘s definitely the best size for me for work, gaming and productivity. Plus, the iPad experience is, no matter how big iPhone screens get, always different and far superior when it comes to browsing especially.

I feel your pain but I think that mockup above would actually work. It has some bezels and adding the rejection I think it could be fine. We will see what they do with it but I'm sure it will have some bezels.

I never thought about just not putting the sensors all of the way to the edge. ...but then how would drawing-like programs work? You wouldn't be able to draw or edit a picture way out there, either. Boy, that would make "them" yell. :) I just wish they would worry more about function. And now we have the new MacBook Pro's.

Over the past few months, Apple has been preparing itself for product launches later in the year by registering several new iPads, iPhones, and Macs with the Eurasian Economic Commission. The filings are legally required for any products that include encryption features and are to be sold in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, making them good indicators of products coming down the line.

Earlier in July, Apple registered five tablet models, including A1876, A1934, A1979, A2013 and A2014, but today Consomac discovered recent authorization for two new tablets: A1895 and A1980. Most of these are expected to be models of Apple's 2018 refresh of the iPad Pro.

Later this year we're expected to see a major update to the iPad Pro with design elements from the iPhone X, like slimmer bezels, faster processor, and a TrueDepth front-facing camera with Face ID support. This means that the 2018 iPad Pro models are also expected to drop support for the home button for the first time on Apple's line of tablets.

The 2018 iPad Pro refresh is predicted to come in two sizes, measuring 11 inches and 12.9 inches, according to recent report by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. With two size tiers and a Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi + Cellular, and potentially a special Cellular model for China, there would be just one model number left over from the seven EEC filings.

While this could be an additional model of the iPad Pro we don't yet know about, it could also relate to a model of iPad not in the Pro family, including the iPad mini 5. A rumor from May 2017 suggested the mini lineup was being discontinued, but over a year later Apple has yet to officially make such a commitment to ending the line.

Consomac's other findings relate to model numbers previously reported, including 11 model numbers for smartphones and five model numbers for laptops, two of which we now know were the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar refresh launched yesterday. For MacBook, this leaves three other models with a potential launch in 2018, perhaps indicating cheaper, entry-level MacBooks without the Touch Bar.

Today's filings also include 11 existing iPhone models listed as running iOS 12, including the iPhone SE and iPhone X, two devices Apple has been rumored to possibly be discontinuing with the release of the new lineup. It's unclear, however, if their inclusion is confirmation that Apple will continue selling them.

Of course, it's difficult to obtain any information based solely on model numbers, so at this point those looking forward to new iPads and iPhones this year can at least know that the devices are a few months away.

[doublepost=1531686470][/doublepost]Another Pilot here looking forward to a new iPad Mini. While I have the Pro 10.5 it is too big for mounting anywhere in the aircraft. The Mini 2 is my primary display with the Pro just for ground planning and backup. The Mini 2 is certainly showing its age with ForeFlight lagging though. A Mini 5 with Apple Pencil could be my new daily driver!

What do you mean? You don't need sensors for drawing and the bezel frame in the mockup is big enough to fit all the sensors you need.
As for rejection, of course you would as you hold the device and the touch gets rejected and then you use the pencil to draw wherever you want.
I think if Apple screws this up then they will lose a lot of people and seeing their focus now is not on mac but iOS toys then I would at least expect the iPad Pro to really be PRO device.
This year is most likely the year that I will finally upgrade my Air 2 to Pro and if lucky I'll get iMac 5k unless apple messes that one up :)
iPhone? Well, we will see. I'm still rocking iPhone 6 and I think until they remove the notch then I might keep using my 6. Will see what they do but I hate the OLED displays as LCD is far superior in many aspects and the notch is just plain awful.
Price is another issue but thats for another thread :)
