I wonder how much actual gold is in this. At $350 it certainly wouldn't be solid gold, even at 14k. 18k plated maybe?

Ah the actual answer is zero, zero percent actual gold.

In that case, why is it $350?
It's crazy, a gold bracelet with no gold? Or something wrong in the description or a misleading Product, if another brand did something like that we would have called it a Scam ....

So much ignorance in 1 thread. If you think it’s too expensive, then move on and buy your cheap Chinese knockoff. I have a silver and space black version of these that are like 10 and 8 years old. Back in the day they were 500 dollar each. Still in top condition. People that say this one ‘should be in real gold for that price’ are just ridiculous. Don’t want to pay the Apple tax ? Go somewhere else, stop complaining and get to your a** to work to earn more money instead of wasting your time and whining on a internet forum (yes I’m implying you’re a brokie)
You can't call it "Gold" with no Gold at all, let's be serious. Are there no consumer protection laws in the US to prevent such misrepresentations ?

must be a slow manufactured outrage day... noone has complained that years of Rose Gold products contain no rose...

For the same price there must be better options out there from more established watch accessory makers? Or is this actually the best of this style for this price? Apple Watch has been out for ages so there must be link adapters and plenty of third party bands out there.

Oof wait till these guys find out their gold iPhone doesn’t really have gold in it either.

Lots of clueless people in this website. By stainless steel watch standards this is appropriately priced, if not a little cheap when compared to the price of an equivalent quality steel band for a traditional watch.

Before I ever owned the Apple band I ordered one of these cheap chinese bands, it broke within 5 minutes and dropped my watch to the ground...

It did do its primary job though, help me figure out if I liked the look of the band enough to buy the Apple version. Six or so years later the Apple band is still in perfect condition.
And every knock off band I ever bought is still functional since the Apple Watch Series 2 and they all look great🤷🏻‍♂️

People who spend as much on these cheapo metal bands as they do on the watch itself are crazy. Probably get the same thing for $20 from china

The bands have worked with every watch you could buy from apple for the past 10 years so.... quality band not a bad purchase. certainly less bad than anything else apple sell.

Apple today released a new Gold Link Bracelet, which is available for $349. The band was first shown off when Apple introduced new Apple Watch Series 10 models, but it was not available for purchase in September.

The gold version of the Link Bracelet is identical to the natural and slate options, but it is designed to match the stainless steel Apple Watch Series 10 that comes in the same gold color. It is made from 316L stainless steel alloy with a custom butterfly closure.

Apple sells the Gold Link Bracelet in both 42mm and 46mm sizes to fit all Apple Watch models. The 46mm version fits 44mm to 49mm Apple Watch models, while the 42mm model fits 38mm to 42mm models. Apple is also selling a kit with additional links for larger wrists.

If ordered online today, the Gold Link Bracelet will arrive between December 20 and December 30. It is not yet available for Apple Store pickup.

Nice bracelet for a niche market, however way toooooooo expensive 😏

You've copied and pasted the description, but haven't really read it, alternatively you don't understand how expensive precision made stuff is.

$549 in Australia lol.

Seems like Apple is totally oblivious to the current financial climate, then again this is Apple we're talking about who've only just started putting 16GB in their base model machines in 2024🙄.
These aren't for the masses 😊

Lets see this lasting for years $20 band.
Most stainless steel is only worth that. if you're paying any more than that you're only paying for apples name on it. I have tons of stainless steal jewelry plenty of which I wear everyday and none of it cost more than than $30. Why would it fail. it's stainless . apple isn't using anything special in theirs... if anything apple makes worse decisions(FineWoven)

Agreed. I guess no one on this forum has looked at the cost of a steel bracelet from Rolex.IIRC, they can run anywhere between $1,500 to $2,000. The a single link alone can be the cost of an entire Link Bracelet. If the Apple Link Bracelet was made by the Swiss, it would most likely start at $2,500+. If you'd like to save a few $$$ and get a nylon Nato strap from Omega, that will only set you back $270.

For people wondering why this is not made of real gold: Apparently a link bracelet watch band weighs about 75 grams. The same amount of gold currently costs about $6500.
Gold is very heavy. If you need 75 grams of steel to make the bracelet you will need over twice that to make the same thing from pure gold. Then you will need to deduct from that about 1/4th assuming 18k gold so it will be about 123 grams of pure gold and 19 grams of base metals. About $10200 in gold content. Double that for retail pricing in best case.

Seems like a lot of broke-ass, jealous individuals commenting on this thread. Those who are complaining about the name of the color are just ridiculous. I bought the desert titanium iPhone and guess what, there’s no desert in it. I can only surmise these individuals were too poor to have the massive Crayola box with its own built-in sharpener that has crazy color names.

I am a big fan of the Apple Watch, but lets be honest. The Apple Watch isn't something you dress up.

Completely disagree. The gold Apple Watch looks like high end jewelry, same with Hermes version. I’ve gotten so many compliments on both.

Not all Apple products are aimed at everyone.

I think it’s a nice band. Is it worth the price? Maybe. I’ve owned a knockoff since the original Apple Watch days, and it looks almost identical unless you really examine it very up close. I think it was like $70 at the time. It’s obviously not manufactured to the same quality, since you need a little tool to add and remove links, which wasn’t as elegant and a tiny bit frustrating to do, but once that was done with in like 5 to 10 min, then you don’t have to mess with it anymore. I haven’t had any issues with mine in the 8 years or so I’ve had it, but I don’t wear it daily because I prefer the comfort of the standard band.

When I was taking pictures for my wedding I had my Apple Watch on and the photographer said "Take the apple watch off, you're not a Power Ranger." And I never looked at it the same. I still use my AW daily, but i take it off when I'm dressing up.
