Ugh, I've given it time and I still hate the new UI. Good thing I spend most of my time in XBMC . I seriously wish it were possible to move back to the iOS 4.x UI.

if i need to buy one, what do i look for? I know not all of them will work. I had that problem the 1st time i hooked it up.

Have you checked out the Mediabridge cables? I've had good success with them.

Loaded it on multiple ATV2's and no problems

What iOS version is it running (About screen > click Select on Apple remote)? Looks like it's Apple TV 5.0.2, build 9B830 (4250), but no one's posted the OS version yet.

I'm guessing it's still iOS 5.1.1 since it's such a minor update.

One fix was the Apple TV 3 now being able to be powered on via the iPhone app. Use to not work and you had to use ATV remote to turn on then you could you the app. I called many of times to support about it and was always told it was a issue they were working on.

I've never had any problems waking up the AppleTV (G2 and G3) with the iPhone app. Every time I open the app and tap on Gestures, the AppleTV wakes up. I've never had to use the IR remote, except when first getting the AppleTV set up on my home WiFi.

My apple tv has always worked well but since last update when streaming audio from ipod it buffers every song as if it is a video, introducing a 5 second gap between each song, and giving a black screen instead of screen saver or album art. very irritating when your listening to an album which flows from one song to the next. audio stremaing is the main reason i use it..

just came back from the apple store. i exchanged my atv and bought an apple hdmi cable (just in case) and everything is working great~! i must have had a dud!
