I wish Apple would have moved the lightning connector on the Magic Mouse. It is so inconvenient to charge.
To date, black and silver peripherals have only been available exclusively with the Mac Pro
It's Apple Silicon ONLY. It's even said on the product pages under compatibility.Would be helpful in the article to note whether the TouchID would work on any Mac laptop that already has TouchID built-in, or whether this is one of those where the M chip is required (i.e., TouchID will/won't work on Intel Mac laptop that has TouchID).
is it the size of the battery? Like a larger device may need to charge quicker or with more power.More great apple products.
With ****** lighting ports.
It’s 2022 and apple continue to use lightning…
Even the iPad Air has USB C now.
NOT INTERESTED IN ANY APPLE PRODUCT WITH LIGHTNING.
In no rush to buy.
Not at all.is it the size of the battery? Like a larger device may need to charge quicker or with more power.
But these devices, Air Pods, and iPhones all don't need that throughput?
The keyboard without the numeric keypad isn’t available in black, is it?
Alongside the Mac Studio and Studio Display, Apple today launched peripherals in new black color options that are available to buy on a standalone basis.

The Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad is now available with black keys, while the Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse are both available with a black multi-touch surface. The accessories themselves are identical to the slightly redesigned versions that were introduced with the 24-inch iMac last year, but feature a black colorway with a black braided Lightning cable.
The new black and silver color options complement the design of the new Mac Studio and Studio Display. Neither the Mac Studio nor Studio Display come with peripherals, so users who want an Apple keyboard, trackpad, or mouse will need to buy them separately.
To date, black and silver peripherals have only been available exclusively with the Mac Pro and have not been available to purchase separately. The Mac Pro appears to still come with black and silver peripherals with the older design.
The Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad is available for $199, the Magic Trackpad is available for $149, and the Magic Mouse is available for $99, and they are all available to order starting today to ship within one business day.

Two reasons really 1) People will buy it at this price 2) Fewer units will be sold making these “exclusive” thus increasing it‘s value. Why is the black keyboard $20 more than the white one, isn't it identical or am I missing something?
Glad I ran out at the last minute to get the space grey accessories before they ran out before they discontinued it. Feel like sometimes the stock market to guess what Apple will release. Scored atThe new ones are silver body with black keys on the keyboard, black glass only on the trackpad or black top on the mouse. And the keyboard is only available in the numeric one. And they charge $20 more for the keyboard and $20 more for the trackpad compared to the silver and white ones.
They are likely the same as the 2021 refreshes, Apple claimed the refresh last year was Bluetooth 5 but in System Report is still says Bluetooth 3.0+EDR. The big difference and reason I returned and stuck with my space gray keyboard and trackpad was because the newer accessories (at least the white/silver version) felt much cheaper to the touch and the typing felt different also. You could tell the minute you took it out of the box, it was a cheaper material used and they were lighter than the older versions. Is this Magic Mouse also updated in a technical department? Or only the color?
Does the newer mice have smoother tracking? Because I have the Magic Mouse 2 that came with my iMac 5K 2017, and the tracking isn’t as smooth as other mice in the marker.
I’m wondering if they have silently improved that.
Yes, they work with Intel Macs (heck, even PCs), but without any use for TouchIDThe product pages list these as only being compatible or with Apple silicon Macs… can anyone confirm if they work *at all* with Intel Macs? Surely they should work as just plain Bluetooth keyboards without TouchID…
Just charge it will you sleep. It doesn't take long and lasts a month.No. Just no.
