Glad to hear I wasn't the only one having the Bluetooth problems with the Apple Wireless Keyboard and the Mighty Mouse.

For whatever reason, both peripherals would randomly stop responding, but the Bluetooth menu bar item still recognized that they were connected. Here's hoping this update fixes the problem.

Yeah, I've been having some problems with my mighty mouse and keyboard, lets see if this fixes them *crosses fingers*

This is Apple's way of saying " we had a problem with bluetooth and iPhone OS 3.0 so we better fix it".

I was under the impression that Bluetooth on the iPhone was only for headsets. What can one with do with a Mac, iPhone and Bluetooth?

Any thoughts on whether this would apply to the older Apple Bluetooth Keyboard? I got the new Mac mini a couple of months ago and the connection drops all the time. I never had a problem with my older G4 Mac mini.

Does this fix the random caps lock light issue on wireless keyboards? (sometimes it's lit, sometimes not...probably an interference issue, dunno)

I am glad somebody else was experiencing this! I know it wasn't the keyboard because it happened on 2 of them. Weird one but hopefully resolves!

Too bad it didn't fix it for me. I still have issues pairing/connecting my iPhone to Mac and vice versa *shrug*

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but:

Since updating to 10.5.7 my wireless Mighty Mouse would randomly stop responding. It would still show as 'Connected' in the bluetooth menu. Disconnecting then reconnecting the device would bring the mouse back to life.

I've now successfully installed this firmware update and restarted, but have already experienced the problem again.

I updated my late 2008 unibody macbook and now my iphone 3.0 3G can tether through bluetooth!!

It would pair before but can never connect.

Thanks apple!!!

So this update is to allow notebooks to tether to the iPhone?

No, it fixed the bluetooth connection to the Phone.

While fixing the connection problem, it allowed me to tether my Iphone, which requires another "hack" to enable this functionality.

LOL!

When I bought my Mac one of the things I was told was that I would have to restart the OS less than Vista. This has certainly not been the case so far!

It's a lie... don't believe the hype/bs.

Win7 needs less reboots than OSX actually.

Sadly this did not fix the problems I've been having with the very two products mentioned in the release notes. Here's to 10.5.8.

The Bluetooth firmware upgrade and how it affects the iPhone (3.0)

There is an improvement with the interface between my MBP and my iPhone since the upgrade...

Before to connect to my iPhone for internet tethering I would have to click the bluetooth icon on the menu bar, select "Open Bluetooth preferences.." and then select my iPhone and click on the icon with the cog on it to get a menu which I would then have to select "Connect to Network" to finally activate the tethering.

Now all we have to do is select the device directly in the menu and "Connect to Network" - Much quicker, much easier - Thank you once again Apple for making a logical and easy to use product!

:D:apple:

If you are having to reboot OS X often, then you have an issue to find. It if very uncommon to have to do that.

Software update comes up with something to reboot your computer at least twice a month. It's not an issue at the client side, it's Apple's inability to address multiple issues in one go. e.g. major java update was released two days before this BT update.

Well don't you want to get the updates as soon as they are available? And if you don't then why not set your Software Update program to search for updates once a month and then you will only have to reboot once a month - I really don't think apple is at fault here.

Just installed the update on my '09 Mac Pro and now I cannot put the machine into sleep mode without it instantly waking up again!

I have the Mighty Mouse as the only active Bluetooth device and the Bluetooth prefpane has the 'allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer' option disabled.

Looking at the console, it shows the wake was caused by USB bus 0x5a, which is the Broadcom bluetooth controller, so I believe the firmware update is the cause :(

I've rebooted twice and used both the menu option and the keyboard shortcut to initiate the sleep, but it still wakes up right after.

Same problem here, tried everything!:mad::mad::confused::confused::confused:
