Tomorrow - ? Seems like you know more than most about dates :p
I mean if they want to show new iPhones on september 30th, tomorrow will be the last day to announce it. They announced "Time Flies" conference exactly 7 days before the event.

Hello Juli,
The last beta release was 7th, not sixth.

Highly disagree that its stable and sending any Feedback through the Feedback Assistant never gets attention. BETA 7 added eGPU issues and crashes. Mail, Calendars and Contacts with Exchange is still buggy. Hopefully BETA 8 is a step forward instead of a step backwards like BETA 7.

Current beta feels like an official release to me. Suprisingly stable.

Well no PB for beta 7, now they released beta 8 for devs. I see it's that issue with Safari and other apps quitting resolved. :)

Please keep us posted regarding eGPU issues in Beta 8. Would be great to hear if they fixed.

If i download and install the beta do i need to do anything different when the final general release gets released ? Like remove myself from the beta program ?

Agreed with Mail being buggy and also your Feedback Assistant comment. You put a lot of time into filing a bug report and then pretty much never hear anything about it again. I consider myself lucky if 1 in 20 of my bug reports gets any response at all, and even then it's usually something lame like asking for something I already categorically provided in the initial report. Apple is a mammoth corporation now and software quality control has sadly plummeted in recent years.

Seems like I’m having a hard time finding the update. Or maybe apple is still having issues with there systems again

I may be wrong but dark mode is updated in this build and is a better tone of gray.

QuickLook is ridiculously slow. Just trying to use it with one screenshot file on the desktop and it’s slower than using a PowerBook G4 with Leopard. Have to do it several times before it caches properly.

Anyone notice towards the end of the update it will play video in the background if you had a YouTube page open?

Basically I ran the update then towards the end I unplugged my iPhone and my Mac started playing the YouTube video I had open during the update.. I also heard the mail app receive mail on my Mac... The video is still playing and I see the black update screen with two minutes remaining...

what is going on?

Edit: I don’t actually see the video- I just hear the sound

When the update finished I logged in and my desktop was restored...

Surprised the update needed to restore my Mac OS session to finish

No chance they'll have a event on the 30th, google is having their pixel event on the 30th, plus all rumours point to mid October for iPhone event.

damn u just upgraded to 7 last week and just got Beta 8 installed. Apple is the on the Roll, now if we can get ios 14.2 beta that would be sweet

Can someone with a MBP 16 with the i9 report back if Big Sur resolves the iGPU issues where everything just stutters and lags when not using the dGPU? I had the base MBP 16 (i9, 16GB of RAM, 5500m 4GB GPU) and found it very frustrating to use when not using the dGPU only and leaving MacOS to decide which GPU to use. That led me to cancel my order for a fully spec'd out MBP 16 with the 5600m GPU because the issues would still persist if I were to use the iGPU.

Just trying to see if Big Sur changed the way the iGPU is throttled up/down.

Thanks!

The how-to videos in the Trackpad prefs haven't been updated, so we are nowhere near close to a GM. ;)
