If you use Parallels 16 I would hold off for a bit. Parallels 16 causes a panic fault and crashes Mac OS 11 and shuts down the computer.

I encountered this kernel panic too. It was with a mojave vm in big sur beta 5.

There are however temporary workarounds. Of course everything is temporary with betas.

Workaround 1.

Use the VMWare Fusion Technology Preview instead of Parallels - which is free for now. This worked for me - but I don't see it as a permanent fix.

Workaround 2.

Switch to the Apple hypervisor under "Hardware - > CPU & Memory -> Advanced Settings" of your VM's settings. I haven't tried this but others have had success with this.

Unfortunately, all my VM preferences are greyed-out and I can'tswitch. Guess I'll be waiting for an official Parallels update.

When I ran I to this problem I uninstalled parallels 16, revpbooted and still have the problem. I suspect something from parallels did not uninstall as I continue to get reboots. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Did they fix the bug where every time you open the MacBook it connects to the wifi but no internet?

Did they fix the bug where every time you switch user account internet drops and continuity and handoff stop working and the only solution is a reboot?

Can you sync the iPhone with the photo albums again or are they doing this on purpose so people buy their iCloud services?

2016 retina Macbook and iPhone 11 Pro
I guess so, because I tested it and it didn't happen to me

After stopping/restarting the download and my iMac several times and even deleting the install file and starting over I’ve finally got it to start downloading at a somewhat steady pace although it’s still slow (as of now I’m just a tad over 2GB in with about “1 hour remaining”.

This is still unacceptably slow for my connection but it’s better than it was. Yesterday’s iOS updates were done in literally minutes.
Sounds like your internet connection

The menubar is still ****ed up

I HATE that the highlight is now damn near imperceivable.

What is this horse ****? STOP ****ING AROUND WITH THE MENUBAR, APPLE! Don't fix what isn't broken!

See this? This is broken.

Five ****ing betas and they still won't fix the alignment issue with a checkmark and the menubar. It must be a feature and not a bug, then, right Apple?
change your ***** wallpaper. mine works fine and I'm **** happy with it

Anyone been having issues with auto unlock using Apple Watch with Big Sur? I have my AW Series 4, on the latest beta but the unlock feature stopped working on the previous betas and is still not working on yesterdays and today's betas.

Anyone else having issues?
working fine. On occasion, when I just put on the Apple Watch, it takes awhile to synch or something, I cancel the login, wait 5 seconds and retry, works every time

I tried reboot and it still stop on the apple logo screen .unfortunately , I had to use the Mac OS recovery and reinstalled Mac OS Catalina ,
I think that is what he said to do, that is what recovery is for. Did I miss something?

Attempting to install. Stuck in a reboot loop with a message stating there was an error starting and to press any key to restart or wait. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Is safari playing 4k on YouTube in software or using hardware acceleration??

Also anyone know if Big Sur uses iCloud-Drive downloads folder?

EDIT:

Read this from another poster:

"Definitely hardware decoding vp9 on 16" in safari ( ~20% cpu use during 4k playback ), though I'm not seeing hdr yet for some reason."

I thought I would provide the dump from error and see if anyone knows what is causing this? Continuous reboots even though I uninstalled Parallels.

After installing beta 5 and migrating all files and apps from catalina can't connect to homepod. It shows that sound is streaming to it and macbook at the same time but homepod stays silent. Apple music streams to the homepod just fine. It is also doesn't allow me to select homepod as airplay device on system settings, and reboot doesn't help. Does anyone has a solution for this?
