Welp, my 3rd gen Time Capsule, 2nd gen AirPort Extreme, and 3rd gen AirPort Express still continue to work just fine, and I plan on getting many, many more years of usage out of them :)

Same here, and if they do stop producing them I plan on buying a bunch more haha.

I have a flat Airport Express (mc414ll/c) and it's working fine. I don't use BTMM. Are there any other improvements in the update or should I leave things where they are? I don't like to mess with the setup unless there's a serious reason to do it.

I saw my TC flashing yellow today but everything was working fine then I realized it was a firmware update. I just updated only took a few minutes not sure what back to my mac is but everything is working as normal. I really love Apple routers now this is something that just always works.

I noticed that after upgrading the firmware on my Apple Time Capsule 802.11ac (2GB) to 7.7.8 that none of my devices would connect via the 5Ghz band, always preferring b/g/n. Ultimately I decided to try giving the 5Ghz network a unique SSID and force a device to connect. I was successful but found performance to be atrocious. I rolled back to 7.7.7 and my 5ghz performance returned to what I'd expect.

I want to confirm if anyone else is having an issue with the 5Ghz bands after upgrading to 7.7.8?

My Airport Time machine 2011 crashed after this update. Softreset/Hardreset, Replug Power. Notting.
I can hear the HDD spinning idle, but the LED-light stays dark.
What to do?
Help.

Any particular reason to update from 7.6.7 if i don't use Back to My Mac?
(everything's been working fine with my Extreme/Network for a couple years...)

Thanks,

Mike in Mich

I gave it 7 days and updated my Express and 2nd gen Extreme: no issues. Airport Utility showed both as having an updated (once I went into the app) and I updated the Extreme via the Windows version and after it rebooted updated the Express vis ios10 just for variety. No issues. I went through the settings and did not see any new or removed features/settings. The Windows version still has the ability to set output power percentages (thankfully)
