That's just crap. When I tag something, it is because when I want to know where the damn thing is, whenever I feel like knowing where the damn thing is. I don't need some damn moral committee only "allowing" me to know where it is, when certain arbitrary conditions, that they're making up from whole cloth, are met. Whether it's my dog, my wallet, or a roll of paper towels is MY business, not the moral police.

Anyone that makes a better tiny tag without Apple's arbitrary bullcrap gets my business, and the business of millions of others.
That’s your misunderstanding of the purpose of AirTags then!

Sounds like you should have bought Tile.

Apple will provide this firmware on a rolling basis, seeding it out to AirTag owners starting today and through December 1. This staggered release timeline allows Apple to make sure the firmware update is working as intended before it is provided to all users.

How do we know the firmware update schedule.. can someone post link of Apple official link, I am unable to find the same.

Apple doesn't publish it for end users, but from the update file that the iPhone downloads to know there is an AirTag update available:

Nov 10: 1% of users (or phones? or airtags? not sure how it works) will receive the update
Nov 17: 10%
Nov 24: 25%
Dec 1: 100%

Odd.

My lone AirTag has been roughly 3 inches from my iPhone 11 for the last several nights.

STILL on the old firmware.

1 of my 2 AirTags is updated. The one in the car resists to update although it stayed near my iPhone too much.

Over a week and a half of having my iPhone 11 Pro Max with BT on sitting inches from my AirTag at night and it still hasn't updated. WTF?

Mine is on 2.0.36, is that the latest? Why does the article say Build number when it's not on the Find My app? Confusing.
